Now make your luxury travel plans to cross the world’s largest pedestrian bridge in Switzerland. Built by Swiss engineers, this new pedestrian bridge is named the Europaweg Skywalk. It’s the latest attraction to enjoy the magical Swiss Alps.

The impressive, new pedestrian footbridge measures almost one third of a mile long. Located near Zermatt, Switzerland the Europaweg Skywalk pedestrian bridge towers about 28 stories above a vast ravine. This pedestrian-only suspension bridge is another engineering marvel.

Extensive studies turned into an amazing bridge design. As a result, the Europaweg Skywalk pedestrian bridge utilizes guywires plus additional anti-sway technology. Therefore, the bridge does not sway as much as other bridges that are much shorter in length. Pedestrians who cross can have that extra feeling of safety. The mid-section of any suspension bridge can have movement. But for hikers who cross, there is only a slight bounce detected. The side to side sway is minimal at best.

In addition, he adds, “The hike is best done in the morning, as the rising sun crests over the mountain and lights up the bridge. You’re sure to get some great photos – but you just can’t photograph adrenaline.

Europaweg Skywalk opened in July of this year. The construction cost of the pedestrian bridge cost just over $775,000. The construction project took only 10 weeks. The bridge measures 1,621 feet long. It towers 7,218 feet above sea level, over the rocky, Zermatt ravine. About 250 hikers can safely cross the bridge at a time. Another piece of trivia for you. The new bridge takes the place of one that was destroyed in 2010. It was a victim of a rockfall.

Talk about a bridge with a view! The Europaweg Skywalk offers incredible views of Weisshorn. This mighty peak measures 14,783 feet high. In addition, it is one of the highest mountain peaks in the Swiss Alps. You can also take in the gorgeous glaciers that surround the mountain’s slopes.

The Europaweg Skywalk got its name from its location at the end of a long-distance hiking trail, named Europaweg or Europe Trail. The impressive footbridge is made form steel. It also has a grated steel foot bed. Hikers can gaze down into the gaping chasm from above. Hope you don’t have a fear of heights.

The cause is due to many years of iron mineral mining. The move will be about two miles to the east.

Mats Bigert and Lars Bergström are a prize-winning, imaginative couple from Sweden. Together, they created the Solar Egg concept. The unique egg shape symbolizes the resurrection and new future for Kiruna. The sauna symbolizes the sun as a catalyst for creativity, care, expectation, and harmony. In addition, it’s a long-standing custom in Sweden.

The mobile sauna was initially located in Riksbyggen (Luossavaara). It then moved to the banks of a mountainside lake in Nikkaluokta in July. It will remain there until the end of September. After that, it is transported to Paris in November. The goal for the sauna is to be moved to various areas and offer varying perspectives.

Watermelon Beer Rita
Recipe created by The Southern Thing

Ingredients:
2 cups seedless watermelon, rind removed
3 tablespoons simple syrup
3/4 cup tequila
1/4 cup lime juice
1 1/2 cups ice (add more as needed)
Cold Corona Light®
Lime wedges (for garnish)
Margarita salt

Preparation:
– Remove seed and rind from watermelon and cut into cubes.
– In a blender, combine watermelon, simple syrup, lime juice, tequila and ice, then blend. Dampen the rim of a large margarita glass or beer mug, then twist the rim in margarita salt.
– Pour contents of blender into a chilled glass, a little more than half full.
– Carefully place an ice cold Corona into a margarita glass and garnish with a fresh lime and serve.

Pacifico Broken Hammock

Ingredients:
1 Pacifico®
2 oz. Casa Noble Crystal Tequila
.5 oz. Lemon Juice
.5 oz. Lime Juice
.5 oz. Agave Nectar
Jalapeno slice
Lime wedge

Preparation:
– Combine all ingredients but beer in a shaker with ice, then shake until chilled.
– Strain into a glass, add ice and top with Pacifico.
– Finally, garnish with a wedge of lime.

Ingredients:
1 Coronita Extra®
1.5 oz SVEDKA Vodka®
4. oz Bloody Mary mix
1 Lime for juice & garnish
1 Celery stalk
1 Pint glass (chilled, if possible)
Coarse Salt

Preparation:
– Salt Rim of glass by wetting the edge with lime juice then dipping glass into a plate of coarse salt.
– Combine Svedka​ Vodka® and bloody mary mix in the glass with ice.
– Squeeze the juice of 1/2 lime into glass. Mix with a spoon. Add clip and insert a Coronita Extra®.
– Lastly, garnish with lime and celery stalk.

To help you celebrate National Rum Month, we want to share some delicious rum cocktail recipes. In preparation for the occasion, Cruzan has been working with top mixologists across the country to develop new cocktails. The partnership has incorporated some of our most popular flavors including Coconut, Vanilla and the newest Cruzan addition – Tropical Fruit.

Cruzan Crush (serves 4-6 people)
Recipe By Teddy Collins, Miami – Florida (photo above)
Ingredients:
4 parts Cruzan® Vanilla Rum
4 parts Cruzan® Aged Dark Rum
6 parts Pineapple Juice
3 parts Lemon Juice
3 parts Apricot Simple Syrup*
Fresh Mint and Thyme

Method:
– Combine lemon juice, apricot simple syrup and pineapple juice into a cocktail bucket or punch bowl.
– Lightly smack 10 mint leaves and drop into the bucket along with 2 stems of thyme and muddle softly.
– Add rums, crushed ice and stir. Garnish with fresh mint, thyme and 4-6 straws. Enjoy!

* Apricot Simple Syrup Instructions:
– Over medium heat, combine equal parts sugar and apricot juice. Stir until sugar has dissolved. Set aside and cool.

Cruzan LocoCoco (Serves 4-6 people)
Recipe By Tiffanie Barriere, Atlanta – Georgia
Ingredients:
8 parts Cruzan® Tropical Fruit Rum
8 parts Coconut Water
2 parts Pineapple Juice

Method:
– Combine all ingredients in a cocktail bucket or punch bowl and stir for 30 seconds with a swizzle stick.
– Fill bucket with fresh ice, stir once more and garnish with fresh pineapple, four straws, and enjoy!

While the days are still warm, get your frosé fix and mix it up a fresh twist using Tanqueray No. TEN Gin. This unique Tanqueray No. TEN Frosé recipe uses home-made raspberry syrup, fresh lemon juice, Tanqueray No. TEN and of course, rosé! Tanqueray’s bright citrus and floral notes are perfectly balanced by the fresh raspberries, rose and sweetness of the honey making this the ultimate summer cocktail.

Tanqueray No. TEN Frosé

* .75 oz Tanqueray No. TEN
* .75 Lemon Juice
* 1 oz Raspberry Syrup*
* 2 oz Rosé

Simply add all of the ingredients into a shaker that’s filled with ice and shake. Next, strain into a stemless wineglass over fresh crushed ice. Lastly, garnish with a fresh raspberry skewer and mint sprig. When done, this delicious Frosé cocktail looks as good as it tastes.

*Raspberry Syrup Preparation:
– 2 cups of Raspberries, 1 cup of sugar.
– Place both in a pot, and bring up heat for about 10 minutes.
– Strain the liquid, by pushing the raspberries down to extract the remaining juice
