In a follow-up to the highly successful, exclusive interview with Jack Armstrong, I had the honor to talk with him again. This time about developing two iconic pieces of art as a tribute to the “King of Pop.”

This time our discussion is about the upcoming documentary film “Mirroring Michael Jackson.” As a tribute, the world’s most expensive glove has been created in honor of the 10th anniversary of the “King Of Pop” Michael Jackson’s passing.

Cosmic Artist Jack Armstrong created the “Cosmic X Love Glove” over a 3 month period. It will be featured in the upcoming MJ documentary film titled “Mirroring Michael Jackson.”
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7643430/

Back in 1983, Michael Jackson was #1 on Billboard’s top album and singles charts for a staggering six weeks in a row. With this milestone, it made Michael the first artist in music history to reach the peak of the four pop and R&B charts at the same time. What an incredible accomplishment!

The Mirroring Michael Jackson film’s producer is Kira Madallo Sesay. She asked Jack Armstrong if he could create a new, cosmic art love glove that MJ could have worn on tour, if he were back on earth magically performing one final show.  When asked about the “Cosmic X Love Gove”, Kira was quoted, “The Golden MJ Glove is iconic cosmic art that will be known forever and uniquely signifies Michael Jackson’s reign as the King Of Pop, alongside his golden vision of peace & love for the world.”

Jack replied, “Given his penchant for sequins, golden pants, jackets & accessories …. I created a multi-layered Cosmic X Love Glove, that includes multi-colored Cosmic ‘X’ painted surfaces. They almost look as if MJ is making a fist in the air to show he is still with us & leading us to be better caretakers of the planet, share love & hope with the world. And of course, inspiring all the brilliant new entertainers that will follow his legendary ‘moonwalk’ into showbiz.”

Armstrong continues, “Michael always said it wasn’t about how famous you become, but how much you do for the people in your community & in the world. MJ gave more money than any other entertainer in history to charities & helped thousands around the world.  He provided generous donations while visiting sick children in hospitals everywhere he traveled. All the while, Michael was inspiring millions with his music & new vision for the world.”

In the past, we are proud to have covered modern artist Jack Armstrong in several previous articles. He’s the leader of the Cosmic Extensionalism art movement. In addition, Jack holds the world record for creating the world’s most expensive bike, boots (Cosmic Cowboy Boots) and motorcycle (Cosmic Harley).

Jack also created the “Golden Cosmic Mirage Hat,” to compliment the MJ “Cosmic X Love Glove.” Both one-of-a-kind, the ‘Love Glove’ is now available for $10M and the ‘Cosmic Mirage Hat’ is $7M.  These two pieces of art will never be duplicated. Due to this fact, their rarity will generate much interest in both the art and entertainment industry.

It’s apparent that both Michael Jackson pieces include gold. How much is still a mystery. Armstrong will not discuss the amount of actual gold used in the creation of his MJ Mirage Hat & Love Glove art objects. Jack did say, “they are virtually priceless.”

Jack said, “MJ could wear both in concert if he were here, as he was my friend since 1979, when we met thru Andy Warhol.”

He continues, “I gave Michael abstract painting lessons in NYC & I believe if he had lived longer, he would have personally created more charities to help women & children. In addition, he also would have politically campaigned to help change the prison & judicial system in America, for people wrongfully arrested & imprisoned for crimes they did not commit. These subjects were all very close to his heart & he spoke about change often.”

In closing, Jack states, “MJ was truly the Man in the Mirror, and my cosmic friend. There will never be another Michael Jackson. So in tribute, I will exhibit the Cosmic Love Glove, & Cosmic Mirage Hat, in this tribute film of MJ & hope everyone can be inspired by his love for the world, thru his music, dance, & powerfully cosmic life.”

“To exhibit the Cosmic X Love Glove exclusively In the MJ Tribute film, is a unique honor for me. 5 million dollars from its sale will be used to create a children’s art wing of the museum I am currently building, allowing children the opportunity to: create, curate, & to exhibit their own art. In-Depth Interview With Cosmic Artist Jack Armstrong

Iconic artist Jack Armstrong is the leader of the Cosmic Extensionalism (Cosmic-X) art movement. The Life of Luxury is proud to have published multiple articles about Jack’s incredible art portfolio.

He holds the world record for creating the world’s most expensive bike, boots (Cosmic Cowboy Boots) and motorcycle (Cosmic Harley). Jack Armstrong has now set his sights on another world record – the world’s most expensive car. The custom painted, $100 million Cosmic-Supercar!

His amazing paintings have been sold to the rich and famous all around the world, including Sir Paul McCartney, the “King of Pop” Michael Jackson and Alice Walton (Walmart family heiress).  It is with great honor, that we have the opportunity to share an in-depth interview with the famous Cosmic artist – Jack Armstrong.

Q1. You are currently involved in a 1 year Digital Retrospective of your work being exhibited on a giant 65 X 40 ft. Screen in the Center of NYC. How does it feel?
https://www.thelifeofluxury.com/cosmic-x-experience-from-artist-jack-armstrong-comes-to-new-york-city/

A. Amazing. No artist has ever done it before. It’s completely out of the box.  I recently closed a $30 Million dollar painting sale with well-known, Chinese billionaire collector – Jack Ma. He saw the exhibition and fell in love with “Cosmic Firebird” on digital display.

Jack Armstrong Art - Times Square, New York City, Ripley's Museum bigscreen

Q2. Thirty million for a private sale direct from the artist is amazing. Have you ever exhibited at Art Basel before & will this new price record perhaps influence you to become more visible in the big art fairs in the future?

A. I have never shown at Art Basel.  I turned down Castelli Gallery in NYC for a solo exhibit when I was 22 years old.

Leo Castelli represented every art legend of the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s.  His gallery was the most successful in the world for contemporary art.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leo_Castelli

Without Mr. Castelli, Warhol, Lichtenstein, Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Richard Serra, David Salle, Cy Twombly, Frank Stella & countless others would not have become iconic.  Larry Gagosian began as his assistant.

He also sold major works by de Kooning & Kandinsky when few collectors or dealers had interest & virtually re-created a new market for them. He was the only art dealer genius I met that revered the artist & not the money that the artist generated.

Q3. Then why didn’t you decide to show in his gallery?

A. I decided early to create my own singular art style & my own unique branding & rarity & to never use a dealer.

It is a pure way & uncomplicated. I imagine it, create it & by word of mouth it has become successful.  In my experience, dealers treat art as commerce, not something rare & filled with passion. I also wanted no part of something that I could not fully control or believe in totally.

After witnessing many of the dealers in NYC telling artists what to paint & having total control of all marketing, exhibits & licensing, it seemed to me like they were cloning artists while still calling their work original. Yet the dealers called all of the shots, not the artist.

Then it all became only art commerce when Jeff Koons, Damian Hirst & others started warehousing art that was created by armies of underpaid art assistants, who actually created the art, that was then signed & sold as original Koons & Hirst masterpieces.
https://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/19/magazine/i-was-jeff-koonss-studio-serf.html

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/art/art-news/9010657/Damien-Hirst-assistants-make-my-spot-paintings-but-my-heart-is-in-them-all.html

If you desire to be the best, how can you work in a controlled system, where other’s create the rules? They enforce them & the artist is only a pawn in a vast marketing system that runs virtually without their input.

A masterpiece cannot be created by rules or by  committee.” – J.A.X.

All of it is purely art fraud & why I have remained outside the official art gallery system where dead sharks, balloon dogs & assistant created paintings are revered & worshipped by curators, museums & certain collectors. They all agree to call it original art (of artists who sign it) but did not produce any of this ‘phantom‘ art.

Q4. Why is originality, passion & rarity so important to you?

A. Originality creates passion and passion is the only reason to create or collect art.

Q5. Rarity then drives the price for original work?

A. Yes, this is why a Da Vinci sold recently for almost half a billion dollars & a Jean-Michel Basquiat original painting just sold for $110M.
https://news.artnet.com/exhibitions/embargo-830am-1-11-yusaku-maezawas-blockbuster-basquiat-gets-show-brooklyn-museum-1194494

“There is a very limited supply of truly rare work available in the world of art, so the prices of unique original’s will move upward past the *billion dollar mark for an individual painting in the next 2 to 3 years.” – Jack Armstrong

Q6. How did you decide to create the world’s most expensive automobile?

A. I am currently planning the world’s 1st $100M. Dollar Car, which has never been done before & feels a bit like becoming the 1st person to climb Mt. Everest. After creating the world’s most expensive bicycle, cowboy boots, & motorcycle, The Armstrong-Bugatti: Cosmic-Supercar seemed to me a perfect – next project.

“On the global art market, rarity & originality is everything & art is the most exclusive luxury product in the world.” -J.A.X.

I would like to be remembered as someone who crafted their own career & left behind in a cosmic sense, a blueprint of magic, to help others find a magical path of their own, in my new book, Cosmic X.
https://www.thelifeofluxury.com/excitement-is-building-for-the-cosmic-x-book-by-jack-armstrong/

Q7. How will your pricing be reflected in the future, now that you have broken the $30M. level in a private sale of your amazing ‘Cosmic Firebird’ painting?

A. Doris Duke purchased a one million dollar painting of mine in 1986.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doris_Duke

At the time, Warhol’s paintings sold for $50K to $150K and Basquiat’s were $6K to $20K. It has always been better for me to be talked about in the highest circles by passionate collectors of my work, than to have a dealer convince me to mass produce work without any originality for sales pitches in mega-galleries.

I chose a different path.” – J.A.X.

Q8. How much is the Cosmic Harley-Davidson you created currently priced at?

A. I have recently heard that my Cosmic-Starcruiser-Motorcycle, is now being offered at $35M for sale, from the family who purchased it in 2012.

Q9. What was your most interesting exhibit experience & personal art experience & what are your art world regret’s if any?

A. I was invited to exhibit the most amazing art bicycle in the world in Dubai to members of the Royal Family & the International Press, which was cool for a kid that grew up in Omaha. Alice Walton also owns my work & her family is the world’s wealthiest.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walton_family

I was blessed to have known Warhol & been friends with Michael Jackson & Jean-Michel Basquiat. They were unique in their originality & passion.

Basquiat used to sleep overnight on my couch & I gave Michael art lessons.

There are several films currently in production that will be bios on my art career and I am included in the ‘Mirroring Michael Jackson‘ film, that is being done on the phenomenon of M.J.  Tribute artists continue to celebrate Michael’s genius & magic worldwide today.
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm9117324/

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7643430/

My only regret is that M.J. & Basquiat are not still with us.  They had so much more to share with the world & were the rarest individual artists I have ever known.

People say my work will break the billion dollar mark per piece in the future, but I know that people are priceless & art is something that creates record prices.” -J.A.X.

Q10. Do you believe record breaking  private art sales are the future & will win out over top prices achieved at auction?

A. Private sales were already breaking top auction prices before last year’s da Vinci sale & they will again. People at the highest levels prefer buying without publicity & the manufactured competition that occurs at an auction.

Ken Griffin the Citadel hedge fund guru paid $500M Dollars recently for 2 paintings in a private sale.
https://news.artnet.com/market/ken-griffin-drops-500-million-two-paintings-430379

Also the Qatar Royal Family purchased a Gauguin at $300M with a Cezanne at $250M dollars.
https://www.france24.com/en/20150207-gauguin-painting-sells-for-record-300m-doha-qatar

These reported deals will be the tip of the iceberg in the future.  Many private deals will never appear in the press, benefiting the buyer & seller when privacy & asset security are worth the premium, that modern art masterpieces command.

Jack Armstrong “Cosmic X” Art – The Next Big Investment Opportunity

Art has long been desired for its beauty. Art appeals to each person in a different, personal level. Some art lovers only like the works of a single artist. While others don’t care who created it. It’s one of the facts that makes the wonderful world of art so special.

We have covered modern artist Jack Armstrong in several previous articles. He’s the leader of the Cosmic Extensionalism art movement. Plus, Jack holds the world record for creating the world’s most expensive bike, boots (Cosmic Cowboy Boots) and motorcycle (Cosmic Harley).

Cosmic Starship Harley Davidson custom motorcycle - Jack Armstrong

But Jack Armstrong is not done yet. He has set his sights on creating the most expensive car – the Armstrong-Bugatti-Cosmic X Art-Car. We reported in July that a world record had been set for the most expensive car. It was a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO car that sold in an auction for $70 Million.

The value of art continues to skyrocket. It has clearly become a sector not just for art collectors, but also investors. According to The Art Market 2018 report, Art Basel and UBS state that in 2017, the “Global art market reaches USD 63.7 billion.” The report states 2017 experienced a 12% increase in sales over the prior year. In addition, China surpassed the UK as the world’s second largest art market, behind only the U.S. The top three countries clearly dominate the art industry. The U.S., China, and the UK represented a whopping 83% of total sales by value.

While art galleries so modest year-over-year growth rate of just 4%, online sales are booming! A new record high was established in 2017 with USD $5.4 billion in sales. That value represents 8% of the global art market by value.

By using third party online platforms, consumers and investors can purchase direct from their favorite artist or from anywhere in the world. As a result, both art galleries and auction houses have seen their online sales volume increase. For example, it was reported that in 2017, 45% of online gallery buyers were new to their business.

What is undeniable, is art sells and it can sell for big money. The price appreciation for many pieces of art can be quite staggering.

In 1973, the National Gallery of Art in Australia purchased “Blue Poles” by American artist Jackson Pollock. The modern abstract painting was bought slightly over 1 Million dollars in Australian currency. Today, that painting is conservatively estimated between 300 million and possibly over 1 Billion dollars!

Blue Poles - Jackson Pollock painting

Orange Red Yellow” is a painting by Mark Rothko. He had social revolutionary views and believed in an artist’s total freedom of expression. His painting sold in 2012 for an eye-popping $87 million. At the time, it set a new record for post-war/contemporary art.

The world record at an auction is Leonardo Da Vinci’sSalvator Mundi” painting. It sold for an astonishing $450 Million in 2017. Read more here:
https://www.france24.com/en/20171116-leonardo-da-vinci-painting-salvator-mundi-sells-record-450m-auction-new-york

https://www.bbc.com/news/av/entertainment-arts-42006584/leonardo-da-vinci-artwork-sells-for-record-450m

Jack Armstrong personally knew Jean-Michel Basquiat, who was a Neo-Expressionist painter in the 1980’s. In May of 2017, one his paintings landed him in the record books. His “Untitled” painting set the record for most expensive painting ever sold at an auction by an American artist. The total auction price including fees totaled $110.5 million. Andy Warhol previously held that title when his “Silver Car Crash (Double Disaster)” painting sold for $105 million in 2013.

Grégoire Billault is the head of the Contemporary Art Department at Sotheby’s New York and was quoted, “Tonight, Jean – Michel Basquiat entered the pantheon of artists whose works have commanded prices over $100 million, including Picasso, Giacometti, Bacon, and Warhol. This extraordinary canvas from 1982 has broken so many benchmarks … but those of us lucky enough to have been in it’s presence will only remember its awesome power. To think that it was created by a virtually – unknown 21- year old & was dismissed by critics, is humbling.”

What is so appealing about the creative works of Cosmic artist Jack Armstrong, is the limited number of his paintings. There are only 100 paintings in existence. Each acrylic on canvas painting is multi-layered but also includes his personal touch. You can find his hand prints, finger prints, plus DNA in each painting.

Jack also knew and worked with Andy Warhol. In 2001, he painted “Warhol Naked.” This incredible piece of art is a touching tribute to his friend Andy. Jack has stated that one the proudest moments in his life was being dubbed “the last wizard of art” by Warhol himself.

But the largest and most complex painting Jack Armstrong ever painted is titled “The Last Wizard.” The colorful painting is 6 feet by 4 feet in size. It’s his largest painting, but also showcases his complete mastery of the Cosmic X art form. The very one he personally founded.”

Jack Armstrong states, “In the future “The Last Wizard” will break the records of his peers, but the power of all these larger than life works will remain as the signposts that signaled the future of art.”

Armstrong continues, “I feel the same way about “The Last Wizard” as Pollock must have felt about his painting “Blue Poles”, “Guernica” to Picasso, “Orange” by Rothko, and “Untitled” by Basquiat.”

Early in Jack’s art career, he became friends and collaborated with three legends of the art world – Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring. The bond they enjoyed together lasts to this day. In fact, take a look at the below video feature both Jack and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

One of the proudest moments in Jack Armstrong’s life was when Andy Warhol named him “THE LAST WIZARD” of art. The label has now become the title of the upcoming movie about Jack’s life.

Jack was quoted, “To be in Times Square with my Cosmic ‘X’ (Digital Art Retrospective) for a 2 year period is a great honor.  I began graffiti painting with Jean Michel Basquiat in 1979 and we both dreamed of having our art seen high up on the huge digital screens that lit up the night.”

Last month, we were extremely proud to have been provided exclusive access to Armstrong’s upcoming book – Cosmic X. From cover to cover, it’s a cosmic journey like no other. Discover the fascinating life experiences and philosophic realization of this iconic artist. The book will be available in January 2019. Here is a preview of the stunning cover.

“Cosmic X” will actually be the first book of the Cosmic X trilogy. Jack just finished writing the third book, which will be titled “The Bliss Code-X.” The second book is named “The Code-X.”

We would also like to share several quotes from Jack’s “Cosmic X” upcoming book:

“Humans are easily convinced to question our own destiny,
when true destiny is found in the re-creation of ourselves in time.”

“We co-exist in the energy of stars & in their light,
find doors in the universe – open to the code we create.”

“When the universe that exists in the mind is recreated in code it becomes love.”

“Love is in the code you breathe. The code is inside all ✴ we enlighten to receive it.”

“If we knew the origins of the universe were encoded in the DNA of the mind,
we could more easily balance our connection in its core energy of love.”

“We hold the energy of life too tightly when energy is like breath, it must be created & released,
to flow & return so that we may experience a universal *transcendence that is beyond anything we are taught.”

Armstrong continues “Art dealer Leo Castelli (who once offered Armstrong a solo gallery exhibit) would be happy to see my work lighting up Times Square at night. He really believed in me.”

Here are several of the cool-electronic, graffiti videos running above Ripley’s Times Square Museum:

Excitement is Building for the “Cosmic X” Book by Jack Armstrong

There is an exciting buzz in the air. The new book titled Cosmic X from artist Jack Armstrong is nearing its highly anticipated launch. Scheduled for January 2019, Cosmic X (bookcover photo above) will be a fascinating journey of the incredible life experiences and philosophic realization of the iconic artist – Jack Armstrong.

Jack has been painting since an early age and says, “All natural talent is inborn & appreciation is important, which gives you an innate sense of wonderment, which is something all children have. It is the greatest gift, if you can keep it alive as an adult.”

Early in his art career, Armstrong was a model in NYC. During this period, he became friends and collaborated with three legends of the art world – Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring.

Armstrong, who was named the “LAST WIZARD” by Warhol, says “It’s a cosmic experience when you are young, to be accepted by people like Elizabeth Taylor, & Andy Warhol, who were both so kind to me.”

“Andy loved what I did.” Armstrong continues, “He always told me, to follow no one.”

He said, “If you listen to somebody else, you’ll never discover yourself.”

The Life of Luxury is proud to have been provided exclusive access to some of the quotes to be included in the upcoming book – Cosmic X.  It’s like nothing else published in art or philosophy before.

Below are just a few quotes from the book, that will help to create a new universal paradigm in Cosmic X.  We hope you enjoy them and find the Armstrong collection inspirational, in multi-dimensional levels, of cosmic realization.

“History is a only a textbook, for what works & what doesn’t.”

“Fame or non-fame, have nothing to do, with the level of talent, or genius, in question.”

“Why have levels of fame become more important than levels of talent, genius, & love?”

“What we live for, becomes our enlightenment.”

New World Record – 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO Sells In Auction for $70 Million

It seems that record setting prices for vintage and classic luxury cars continue to be set. Just last month, a vintage 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO sells for $70 million to become the world’s most expensive car. These classic 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO cars are very rare. Only 36 of them were built between the years of 1962 and 1964.

The 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO has been called the “Holy Grail”. Ferrari lovers simply love the car’s amazing styling, plus racing performance. In fact, the Ferrari 250 GTO actually finished in fourth place at the world famous Le-Mans auto race in 1963.

In addition, the Ferrari 250 GTO also won the ten-day Tour de France road rally back in 1964. The Ecurie Francorchamps team was led by Georges Berger and Lucien Bianchi. The car can reach a top speed of 174 mph and features a three-litre V12 engine. Oh boy can it go fast – from 0 to 60 mph in only 6.1 seconds.

The record $70 million sale price was paid by David MacNeil. He’s the founder and CEO of WeatherTech. The company sells automobile accessories, including its popular line of high-end floor mats.

Marcel Massini is the highly respected Ferrari historian and states this particular 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO car is “one of the top three or four GTOs in the world.”. The car was restored in the 1990’s by James Cottingham, of Hertfordshire-based DK Engineering. Cottingham states, “This is one of the best 250 GTOs in existence in terms of history and originality.”

Marcel Massini believes in 5 years, this $70 million 250 GTO will bring a price tag of $100 million (£75 million). Now that’s an impressive return on investment! But why wait if you are ready to break the record yourself.

Last week, we did an exclusive review titled – World’s Most Expensive Car – $100 Million Armstrong-Bugatti-Cosmic X Planned for an Exhibit at the Galaxy Macau in China Currently being planned, the Armstrong-Bugatti-Cosmic X will become the ultimate luxury hyper-car.

World renowned artist, Jack Armstrong will paint the world’s most expensive car in history. The price will be a whopping $100 million. Therefore, shattering the $70 million just paid by David MacNeil for the 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO. Armstrong’s “masterpiece” is also known as the “Cosmic Dream Star.”  The Armstrong-Bugatti supercar will be exhibited in China in 2020.

When asked about the $100 million price, he replied, “Marketing is a poor mans game of monopoly, while positioning is the ‘marketing of kings’.” He continues, “Even if I were selling soap, I would position it to be, the most exclusive soap in the world.” Lastly, he states, “Rolls Royce is Rolls Royce – Ferrari is Ferrari and no one questions their pricing or position. So become a Ferrari or Rolls, in your positioning and pricing.”

When asked about the recent $70 million Ferrari purchase, he says “Comparing it to the upcoming 100M dollar sale of the Armstrong-Bugatti, it now establishes the 100M dollar high-end market for Hypercars, in a real-time, realistic perspective.”

We also covered Jack Armstrong’s “Art Triptych” collection. Available for $45 million, this amazing collection is comprised of his custom painted Harley Davidson motorcycle – “Cosmic Harley”. In addition are two of his seminal paintings.

For those wanting to make a stunning fashion statement, consider buying his painted Cosmic Cowboy Boots.”  The price tag is $6 million.

Jack Armstrong was quoted, “Each of the 3 Objects listed, were the seminal moments in the history of the art form I created – Cosmic Extensionalism.” Jack continues, “Cosmic Extensionalism is the style I paint in and is more than a new school of art. It is everything I dreamed possible long ago.” He adds, “I feel the same way about the ‘Cosmic Starship Harley’ and the ‘Cosmic Firebird’ painting’ Both works of art standing alongside Warhol Naked will always define me and the art creation: which is: Cosmic Extensionalism.”

Furthermore, Jack Armstrong says, “All 3 objects of my art are each the reflection of the same dream, and the same artistic truth. Through Warhol and all the visionary artists that came before him, I understood that to be the best, you simply could not conform or alter your vision, to please a dealer or a buyer of my work. Because the conformity would have ‘destroyed’ the unique imagination behind the masterpiece.”

The Art Triptych is now being offered as the 3 most important works by Cosmic ‘X’ artist – Jack Armstrong!
