The Kimball Art Center is the heart of Park City, Utah’s historic and vibrant arts community. From August 4-7 2011, The Kimball Art Center will once again be hosting the Park City Kimball Art Festival.
The Park City Kimball Art Festival is an annual event and considered to be one of the top art festivals in the entire country.
It’s a 3 day event offering a wide variety of artistic experiences for artists, locals and visitors including visual-art exhibitions, live musical performances, interactive art demonstrations, kids’ art area, cuisine related activities, and art focused film screenings.
The Kimball Art Center just announced the selected artists who are planning to participate in the 42nd Annual Park City Kimball Arts Festival. They were chose from an independent jury that consisted of 12 art professionals (gallery owners, art professors, artists), art collectors and art enthusiasts.
The 2011 Park City Kimball Arts Festival is scheduled to feature 220 established artists from all across both the U.S. and Canada.
The event will showcase artists selected from 860 applications. This number represents a significant increase from the entries received last year.
Erin Linder, who is the Kimball Art Center – Director of Exhibitions was quoted. “This year, the applicant pool was highly competitive due to the increase in applications and range of talented artists. The jury remarked on how difficult it was to evaluate such an impressive array of work. I am pleased with the jury’s results. The artists invited to participate in the festival, many of whom are new comers, offer creative, diverse and interesting work. There will be an exciting artistic mix at the 2011 festival.”
For the 2011 Park City Kimball Arts Festival, the 220 international and locally based artists were selected to participate in 12 media categories- ceramics, drawing, fiber, glass, jewelry, metalwork, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and wood.
The 2011 Park City Kimball Arts Festival is expected to host over 50,000 art enthusiasts and cultural tourists.
