As a tribute to the upcoming Year of the Monkey in the Chinese New Year calendar, luxury watch brand Jaquet Droz is introducing the stunning Fire Monkey watch collection – Petite Heure Minute Monkey.
Consisting of four watch models, these luxurious watches from Jaquet Droz depicts the importance of monkeys in Chinese culture, as well as astrology. The monkey symbolizes both long life and intelligence.
Part of the new Petite Heure Minute Monkey watch collection, there are two new models. Each of the models will be available in two different versions and based on the company’s Petite Heure Minute.
Known as the Monkey King, Sun Wukong is featured in Chinese classical literature. His character is still one of the most popular in Chinese culture’s folklore. Sun Wukong represents the balance between the timeless and contemporary plus the past and present. He made the ideal inspiration for Jaquet Droz.
The Petite Heure Minute Monkey shows the animal leaping up on branch and trying to grab a peach. The watch is decorated with beautiful lacquer and mother-of-pearl. The monkey is sculpted in gold, sitting on the peach tree with delicate foliage in the background.
As mentioned above, Petite Heure Minute Monkey comes in two versions. The first is enclosed in a red gold case. The other one comes in a jewel-like white gold case that sparkles with beautiful, inset diamonds.
Similar to the two different versions of Petite Heure Minute Monkey, the two models of Petite Heure Minute Relief Monkey feature a long lasting, 68-hour power reserve. They are available in a limited edition of just 28 pieces.
