SBE, a creative national and international hospitality company and proven leader in the real estate industries, will officially break ground on the SLS Hotel & Casino Las Vegas (or SLS Las Vegas), a fully-integrated, entertainment-driven resort and casino with more than 1,600 guest rooms and suites.

Having built a reputation for managing and operating award-winning hotels, restaurants and nightlife, SBE will now bring new life to the north end of the Las Vegas Strip on the grounds of the iconic, former The Sahara hotel.

Scheduled to open in fall 2014 and designed to be one of the most energetic hotels on the Vegas Strip, the SLS Las Vegas is expected to pour $400 million into the local economy and create an anticipated 8,600 direct and indirect jobs.

Stockbridge Capital Group of San Francisco, a real estate investment management firm, is an equity partner in the project.

“We’re creating a mix of approachable offerings with established brands under one roof that are managed and owned by one company,” said Nazarian. “As a result we’re able to align operations and program a seamless guest experience throughout every square foot of the property.”

The new SLS Las Vegas luxury hotel will feature a collection of restaurant concepts including The Bazaar by José Andrés, Katsuya by Starck and Umami Burger plus the Griddle Café commended for their breakfast, lunch, dessert and cocktail menus. Party at four nightclubs including a reinvention of Shelter, and The Sayers Club known in LA for their exclusive live music venue.

Fred Segal-branded high end boutiques will be the exclusive retailer occupying a 10,000-square foot property offering a wide range of fashionable and sophisticated merchandise.

“With our proximity to a resurgent downtown community and the convention center, and our mix of nationally relevant brands, SLS is ideally positioned to appeal to locals, destination tourists and conventioneers,” added President of SLS Las Vegas, Rob Oseland. “Today is a day we’ve all been waiting for, and we’re thrilled to be a part of reinvigorating a legendary section of the Strip.”
