Heesen Yachts Delivers the M/Y ARKADIA Luxury Yacht
Heesen Yachts has delivered the M/Y ARKADIA luxury yacht. Previously known as Project TRITON – YN 18850, M/Y ARKADIA is the first of five yachts scheduled for delivery in 2021.
Dutch shipyard brand Heesen Yachts announced the M/Y ARKADIA yacht was sold in October 2020 by David Johnson of Denison Yachting. Plus, he introduced the client and worked closely with the Heesen Yachts sales team at the shipyard in Oss, to sign the sales contract.
American customers appreciate the quality of a Dutch pedigree yacht. As a result, the Heesen Yachts fleet is rapidly growing in North America and the Bahamas. The luxury yacht company looks forward to seeing ARKADIA join her sister ship OMAHA.
A go-anywhere, luxury superyacht ARKADIA is the second yacht in Heesen Yacht’s 50-metre steel displacement class. This class offers exterior lines by Clifford Denn that combine a purposeful, muscular profile with the elegance of Dutch superyacht design. Her luxurious interior is by Reymond Langton.
Every, single area of the yacht has been conceived to deliver the best possible experience for everyone on board. For example, up to ten guests can be accommodated in five luxurious suites. Continuing, the luxury yacht’s generous deck spaces will also ensure maximum enjoyment of the great outdoors. Passengers can enjoy alfresco dining, relaxing in the sun or simply getting close to the water in her lavish beach club. Arkadia is a beautiful addition to the fast-growing Heesen fleet and is sure to turn heads wherever she goes.
The new owner is represented by David Johnson from Denison Yachting. He states, “I would like to thank Heesen for their support and coordination in making this project happen. The yard worked tirelessly to ensure the yacht is ready for the owners and their family to enjoy cruising this summer.” Jonson continues, “A special thanks also to the owners’ team on board who have been an integral part of the success of this project. This is the most recent new construction sale for Denison Yachting, and we are excited to continue working closely with Heesen to facilitate the sale of future new builds.”
Delivering a superyacht during a pandemic is not a straightforward task. Heesen closely followed the initial Covid-19 safety measures, when announced. First, they appointed a dedicated team to manage the handover from the shipyard to the owner and his staff. With travel and meetings disrupted by the pandemic, this service has proved itself invaluable.
A true bluewater motor yacht, ARKADIA features a full-displacement, round-bilge hull design. In addition she is equipped with a drag-cheating bulbous bow, that promises superlative cruising comfort and seakeeping. The top speed of this luxury yacht is 15 knots. Therefore, she has a transoceanic range of 3,800 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 13 knots. Perfectly balanced, the yacht’s rudders ensure excellent close-quarters maneuverability. Lastly, with just under the 500 Gross Ton threshold, she is also remarkably spacious for her length.
Currently, the Heesen team is focused on assisting and advising the yacht’s management company and her crew. The ongoing talks deal with all the regulatory and certifying authorities. The handover team also includes commissioning engineers, shipyard captains, and dedicated interior experts. These staff members work closely with the yacht’s crew, to ensure a smooth transition. The goals is make this transfer of knowledge as seamless as possible. As a result, a smooth operation of the yacht by the owner and his guests is the end goal.
