EARTH, A Book Like No Other
EARTH is not just a book, it’s an incredible creation. Nothing like Earth has ever existed before. The book provides a magnificent impression of the world today, a valuable tool for any library for centuries ahead.
EARTH, extraordinary, is the ultimate atlas about our planet. Gordon Cheers, Australian publisher, dreamed of creating the biggest most comprehensive and authoritative atlas for 25 years.
This limited edition collection of 2,000 copies is ideal for the luxury collector, map enthusiast, affluent traveler, corporate office or personal library. EARTH is an unprecedented achievement in publishing. It is a piece of art — a time capsule of the planet as we know it. The price is equally extraordinary $5,800.
This enormous book weighs 63 pounds, 24″ x 18″, gilded silver pages, royal blue leather cover, silk-lined preservation case, 800 spectacular photos including gate folds that extend 6′, 355 maps and 580 pages. Each book is numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Five years in the making, more than 100 international cartographers, oceanographers and geographers produced and collated the maps including one of the earth from the sky at night measuring 6′. A team of 50 editors collected stunning geographical facts and carefully selected the best images from the National Geographic archives.
The craftsmanship is magnificent – upon order each book is bound by hand with painstaking detail to ensure preservation then shipped directly to the new owner. Following printing, EARTH’s plates will be destroyed. The select few who own this wonderful volume will have a treasure they can pass on for generations.
The book has already gained considerable media awareness. NBC’s Today Show recently featured EARTH to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day. In addition, International Cartographic Conference named EARTH “The Best Atlas in the World” November 2009, Santiago, Chile
As previously mentioned, there will only be 2,000 Royal Blue hand-numbered copies of Earth ever made. Why? Because the plates were destroyed after printing.
Earth was published in 2009. The book price is $5,800 and includes shipping charges.
Map Link is the exclusive distributor in North America for EARTH. The book is not available in any store.
