This property first opened in 1991 and was originally named the Embassy Suites Lake Tahoe Hotel & Ski Resort. But in 2013, the hotel was renamed the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel. Since then, it has undergone about $8 million in upgrades and renovations to all of its 400 two-room suites.
The Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel is located bear the base of world famous Heavenly Mountain Resort ski resort, one of the premier ski resorts in the world. To the left is Harrah’s Lake Tahoe hotel and to the right is the Grand Residences by Marriott and Marriott’s Timber Lodge. A little further you’ll find the Shops at Heavenly Village. As you walk or drive up and down Lake Tahoe Blvd, you can enjoy many casinos, restaurants and shopping choices. Due to the fact the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel is located in California, you will not find a casino on-site.
As you first enter the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel, you’ll notice the impressive atrium. Gaze up the expansive center of the resort. All rooms at this luxury property overlook the atrium from the door side of your suite. From your large bedroom window, take in the local Lake Tahoe area views.
In total, guests can stay in one of 400 all-suites, each offers two rooms. They are spacious and provide a lounge and dining area, in addition to a spacious bedroom and bathroom. Each of the suites comes with a King or two Queen beds.
The bedroom is quite roomy compared to standard hotels. You’ll find plenty of closet space and drawers to unpack and put away your clothes and other personal belongings. The other room is a lounge area. Enjoy watching TV or socializing on the sofa bed and comfortable chair. There’s also a coffee table. Adjacent is a small kitchenette with mini refrigerator, sink and microwave oven. Enjoy a meal or late-night snacks and sit down at the large dining table.
Start your day right each morning with a complimentary buffet breakfast. The Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel provides a delicious meal daily, during your stay. You can choose from a wide selection hot and cold entrees. For example there are pancakes, french toast, eggs, muffins, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, toast, muffins, cereal, oatmeal, fresh pastries, yogurt, and much more. You can even have a made-to-order omelette for a small, additional fee. Your free breakfast also includes unlimited drinks. Try coffee, hot chocolate, milk, in addition to various juices. We found the food very tasteful. The seating area was open and surrounded by large plants and flowers for a relaxing vibe.

Since it’s heated, guest can enjoy the pool even when is cold and snowing outside in the winter. After a long day of outdoor activities, take a soak in hot tub.
