Interested in escaping the cold in luxury? Here is an excellent vacation alternative to biting cold: Scottsdale, Arizona.

It’s an accessible, family-friendly R&R haven filled with activities, fine dining and great weather.

The members of Ultimate Escapes, a luxury destination club, often retreat to Scottsdale to stay in the club’s luxury homes, soak up the brilliant rays, and explore the many fun and educational activities.

Here are the member’s top activities:
1. CrackerJax Family Fun & Sports Park features more than 28 acres of fun for all ages, including an automated driving range, golf schools, miniature golf, go-karts, batting cages, volleyball and arcade, restaurant, clubhouse and meeting rooms.

2. Fiddlesticks Family Fun Park — this 7-acre family fun park features a 4,000 square foot state-of-the-art laser tag adventure. Atlantis Laser Odyssey provides endless fun and excitement for everyone in the family. Other attractions include go-karts, batting cages, miniature golf, bumper boats, and a video arcade. Younger children love Kiddie Land, which offers seven different fun-filled rides.

3. McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park — Ride the train through 30 acres of beautiful Park, or enjoy the Scottsdale Charros Carousel. Rides are offered daily.

4. Big Surf Water Park — Located in Tempe, this water park offers a refreshing wave pool and multiple water slides and activity areas. This 20-acre theme park cools visitors down on the hottest days. You can also play volleyball or basketball in the surf.

5. Golfland/Sunsplash — Located in Mesa, this is the place to enjoy miniature golf, video games, and kid-sized race cars that zoom along a busy track; or explore the wave pool, water coaster, and a meandering river. When all these attractions have worn you down, kids can rejuvenate with some of their favorite foods: pizza and ice cream.

6. Desert Wolf Tours – Desert Tours provide unique half and full day tours that no other company can offer, including Indian ruins, ghost towns, mines, river crossings and fun driving through the beautiful Sonoran Desert. Experience the Sonoran Desert up close where you may see javalinas, desert mule deer, coyotes, and rattlesnakes.
