Valef Yachts provides a high-end wellness approach that seeks to support guests in reconnecting with their mind, body and spirit. They welcome wellness seekers in Greece with a holistic approach to rejuvenation. Valef Yachts offers the unadulterated charm of the Mediterranean.
Alexandra Lefakinis, one of two sisters that are managing partners in the family business explains, “Defined living is about health and wellness, and we treat the yachting journey like a wellness retreat for recreation.”
Alexandra’s sister Kassandra Lefakinis states, “While guests feel truly liberated as they soak in the peace that the sea offers, on its own, we built on that abundance of raw nature.”
A first introduction to the splendor of Greek bounty awaits guests in their onboard welcome basket of Greek products individually selected for each charter group. “A favorite is Mastiha, a liqueur made from resin exclusively harvested on the island of Chios. It is a fantastic digestif with positive effects on oral health,” Kassandra explains.
Organic and locally sourced produce is carefully prepared by onboard master chefs for personalized menus according to individual dietary needs and desires. “The Mediterranean diet is a sought-after ‘no fuss’ detox,” says Alexandra and adds: “Guests immerse into the Greek culture with local dishes that are based on fresh fish, wild herbs, and seasonal fruits such as the East Mediterranean figs that are only available in August.”
Valef Yachts offers the finest fleet of chartered yachts in Greece and the Mediterranean. The contemporary and vintage yachts of today are equipped with sumptuous onboard spa facilities ranging from jacuzzis, massage and therapy rooms, steam rooms and saunas, to be complemented by personal fitness and yoga instructors and private wellness therapists who come on board from various islands.
With private scuba instructors, guests dive into the abundance of aquatic beauty and get mesmerized by underwater life and ruins. The crew assists in displaying a wide range of sea sports from the swim platform of the yachts such as paddle boarding and kayaking. The yachts come with sea toys such as wakeboards, sea bobs and jet skis “not only for entertainment, but to release endorphins,” Kassandra says. Amongst the favorite of the youngest guests, who are carefully looked after and pampered by the crew, is the inflatable yacht slide.
Freedom of Discovery
“We cater to discovery, and our guests become explorers who enjoy the ultimate feeling of freedom that comes with it,” Kassandra Lefakinis says.
First-time charterers gravitate towards motor yachts due to their speed and space which typically means more onboard facilities and opportunities for more recreational activities, and comfort.
The Valef Yachts team recommends the dynamic motor yacht AQUILA to enjoy new adventures in sea sports with recreational equipment such as Kymera, an electronic body board which lets you glide on the water. Ample space on the sun deck of the motor yacht MI ALMA allows for a sunset yoga session under the gaze of ancient Greek temples, followed by continued relaxation in the on-deck jacuzzi.
Natural Healing Spots
The heritage company Valef Yachts, Greece’s very first luxury yacht charter to open business back in 1969, holds the best kept secrets to drop anchor in Greece.
“Singular landscapes with natural healing properties are amongst the favorites of our guests,” Alexandra reveals.
In Milos with its numerous hot thermal springs all over the island, guests can take a bath and enjoy the benefits of this natural wonder that stimulates circulation, reduces stress and pain, and even promotes sleep. In the hot springs of Pali Kameni in Santorini, a dip in the rich green waters with sulfurous mud soothes aching joints and calms the skin.

“Docked at Hard Rock” in Lake Tahoe, Featuring the Art Car “Christina”
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe was the only place to be over the weekend. “Docked at Hard Rock” took place both Friday and Saturday nights and featured the amazing “Art Car” Christina.
Event guests at the Docked at Hard Rock celebration on Friday, Nov. 1, were treated to nationally acclaimed DJ Justin Martin. Based in San Francisco, the DJ/producer first entered the electronic music scene in 2003. He helped develop Dirtybird Records, during a time he also booked various international festivals.
On Saturday, Nov. 2, Zach Sciacca thrilled the large crowd. He’s better known as DJ Z-Trip. The DJ/producer is from Phoenix, Arizona. Like Justine Martin, he performed atop the Christina art car. Z-Trip was awarded “America’s Best DJ” in 2009. He is still as popular today and a pioneer of the mashup movement. In addition, LL Cool J, Public Enemy and Dan the Automator are a few of the respected artists Z-Trip has worked with.
The exclusive “Docked at Hard Rock” event became a huge pool-side party, featuring the fun vibe of live music, art, plus several charity functions. The appearance of Christina was the yacht’s first venture on private property for the public.
In addition to the acclaimed DJs, the crowd was treated to fire spinners, Psychedelic Sailors dancing atop the boat, Boots ‘n Cats Gogos, a 104-degree giant hot tub, plus special guests. The party kicked off both nights at 6 p.m. Later that night, the party moved indoors to the Vinyl Nightclub and Center Bar.
Jordan Laub is the event promoter and owner of VELUFUR and was quoted, “Christina’s unique story sets the tone and provided the theme to commemorate an authentic local institution in a meaningful way. Reflecting Lake Tahoe’s status as an environmental leader and Hard Rock’s corporate principles to that end, we’ll also be raising funds for organizations including The Tahoe Fund and Artech dedicated to promoting sustainability and cultural enhancement.”
Christina is a 65-foot long and 35,000 pound yacht. For years, it could be seen traveling across world famous Lake Tahoe. For those who have attended Burning Man, you will remember seeing the Christina art car traversing the Playa for almost a decade. Christina was designated “Queen of Black Rock” on three occasions. She held up to 140 passengers each trip around the Nevada desert floor.
Flipper “Flipper” Manchester is a South Lake Tahoe construction company owner and the current owner of the art car Christina. The yacht was dry-docked at the historic Tahoe Keys Marina and Flipper has hired to demolish it. But he had an innovative idea to save it and convert the yacht to an art car. The boat’s massive hull was painted with the turquoise waves of Lake Tahoe. For years, it was a popular attraction on the Black Rock Desert Playa in northwest Nevada.
To make its grand appearance at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe was no simple feat. In mid October, Christina was trucked along a route from Gerlach along State Route 447 to Interstate 80, onto US-395 to US-50. The route was chosen to fit under overpasses and stay away from more congested routes. Finally, once the Art Car” Christina arrived in South Lake Tahoe, she was reassembled.
Party guests could also rent comfortable daybeds, cabanas and reserved tables. Plus, bottle service was also available to purchase.
Charles Manchester was asked by Lake Tahoe Action magazine: How did the “Christening of Christina” and “Docked at the Hard Rock” celebration come about? “Executives of the Hard Rock who’ve attended Burning Man and heard her story approached me with the concept to bring her home. They saw the Christina as a vehicle to continue what goes on in the Playa for Burners throughout Northern California, Nevada and beyond”
He continued, “They recognized that it’s more than a party – how it moves people, and determined a way to have a good time, promote art and benefit local non-profits. The entire concept resonated with me. Everybody who knows her and local burners from Tahoe/Reno are all going to be there. I’m excited that the boat will be here and am looking forward to hanging out with my friends and having fun.”
Then Charles was asked, What is the future hold for the Christina? “I planned to take her back down to Burning Man, and she might be going to other events like Coachella Valley and Las Vegas Electric Daisy. I have some folks in Seattle asking me to bring her up there to keep the vibe alive. From a transport standpoint, we’re installing metal plates enabling us to pull her apart and reassemble fast. Making it tear-down and reassemble is fast for transport. And yes, I’d do it all again.”
Be sure to check out the many upcoming events at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe. The Life of Luxury offers VIP access to over 50,000 events around the world. It’s time you make your dreams come true with a VIP experience! Please contact us today.

Heesen Announces the Incredible Masa Luxury Yacht
Luxury yacht brand Heesen recently announced that their Project Aster model was launched from their Danish shipyard in Oss. The launch occurred on Friday April 5th. Also known as YN 18750, the new luxury yacht was named Masa by its new owner, during a private ceremony.
Owning a luxury yacht has long been a dream for many people. Enjoying a VIP experience on the open seas is amazing. Owners feel the independence from life’s high stress and leave all their worries behind.
This new luxury yacht in the 5000 Aluminium Class sports a unique name. “Masa” translates to my diamond – a diamond in its purest form. One that symbolizes the highest form of royalty. As a result, the name perfectly fits this elegant yacht, the eighth in 5000 Aluminium Class.
This yacht class continues to prove to be one of the most successful in Heesen’s extensive yacht range. She represents the pinnacle of Heesen’s expertise in building sporty, lithe and graceful semi-displacement motor yachts.
The interior design by Cristiano Gatto celebrates the lineage of her forebears. The décor is fresh and elegant. Plus it beautifully combines a light palette of colours with silver to create an atmosphere throughout the yacht that exudes tranquillity.
Plus, the versatile layout comprises five lower deck suites and a master stateroom on the main deck forward, giving capacity for twelve guests serviced by nine crew.
Masa’s exterior lines are designed by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects. The sleek design embodies Heesen’s DNA: the pelican-beak bow with reverse sheer and the sporty mast give Masa a very distinctive look.
But Masa’s beauty does not lie exclusively in her aesthetics. For example, her 50m all-aluminium semi-displacement hull has been designed, engineered and welded by Heesen’s in-house team. Therefore, it results in the smallest tolerances.
With considered naval architecture and precision, lightweight aluminium construction, Masa will reach a rapid top speed of 23 knots thanks to two MTU 16V 4000 diesel engines. At 50 metres and coming in below 500GT, Masa perfectly combines performance, comfort, space and refined luxury.
After launching, Masa will remain in the shipyard’s harbour basin for the final elements of construction and the commissioning of her systems. For her maiden voyage, Masa will then cruise to Hellevoetsluis where she will begin her rigorous sea trials and official tests before final handover to her owners in June 2019.

Aquamarine: Heesen’s Newest Fast-Cruising, All-Aluminium Motor Yacht
Luxury yacht builder Heesen, has introduced its first yacht in its newly designed, 5000 Aluminium Class. This stunning luxury motor yacht is named – Aquamarine.
Aquamarine features a brand new hull with a design from its talented, in-house naval architects. It becomes the newest fast-cruising, all-aluminium motor yacht by Heesen. In addition, the company worked very closely with Van Oossanen Naval Architects, who are renowned hydrodynamicists.
An efficiency gain of 12% is obtained by the optimization of the hull design. By raising the transom and making it sleeker, the 12% percent end result became achievable. Plus the propeller tunnels are incorporated into the sleek hull.
Thanks to the optimized hull design, it became possible to install MTU’s new 16V4000M65L green oceanic engines. They are specially designed to operate with an SCR unit (Selective Catalytic Reduction). The result is a reduction in NOx emissions. Therefore, Heesen’s Aquamarine is the first fast-cruising yacht below 500GT to be IMO Tier III compliant. It is a proud accomplishment by Neesen.
The yacht’s draft is reduced to only 2.15 meters by featuring raised propellers. As a result, the shallow draft makes Aquamarine the perfect yacht for cruising in the Bahamas. Also the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean is also achievable. A pair of interceptors will guarantee optimal dynamic trim at high speeds.
Heesen’s new 5000 Aluminium Class reduces the carbon footprint without compromising on speed or performance. Thus the installation of soot filters on the generators, also makes the package complete.
The Omega Architects design creates a clean and modern profile. As a result, Aquamarine becomes a progressive, technological masterpiece. As an example, the raised aft deck allows for a full height multi-purpose tender garage that doubles as a luxury beach club. Plus you get a deck complete with sun pads.
Since the aft deck connects to the flush swim platform, guest are much closer to the water. It delivers a rewarding water experience. In addition, the rescue tender is conveniently stored under a hatch in front of the wheelhouse. This delivers a clean profile line.
With a total of 5 cabins, Aquamarine can accommodate up to 12 guests. This makes it perfect for both intimate and large group parties.
Here’s a summary of the key attributes of Aquamarine by Heesen.
– Length: 50.0m / 164.0′
– Beam: 9m / 29.5′
– Materials: Alu / Alu
– Hull Type: Semi-displacement

Heesen Yachts Delivers First Yacht in New 50 Metre Steel Class: Omaha!
Heesen Yachts just announced they have delivered their new 50 metre steel class luxury yacht: Omaha. At 50 metres, Omaha has a Gross Tonnage just below the 500GT threshold. As a result, this displacement motor yacht is the first yacht in Heesen Yachts’ new 50-metre Steel Class which is the successor of our 47m Steel Class.
After extensive sea trials, the luxury yacht has been proudly delivered to their owners. The trials were conducted in the North Sea. The weather was ideally favorable. Therefore the seas ranged from calm to moderate.
Christined Omaha, the interior of the new YN 18350 yacht from Heesen Yachts was styled by Reymond Langton. The exterior by Clifford Denn Design. With a 50m displacement, Omaha has a range at 12 knots of 3,800 nautical miles.
During her sea trials, Omaha did exceed the contractual speed, reaching 16 knots. This positive result proved to be extremely maneuverable in all conditions. This fact is due to her large rudders, in combination with the power steering unit. Omaha is powered by two MTU 8V4000 M63 engines. She has a range of 3,800 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots.
YN 18350 is the first in Heesen Yacht’s newly designed 50 metre Steel Class. As previously mentioned, the exterior lines of this luxury yacht are by Clifford Denn. The company spliced the Heesen DNA with lines inspired by classic car design. It creates a true blue-water yacht, with a bold presence on the water. The end result is spectacular, to say the least.
The yacht’s guests will experience VIP comfort, due to its round bilge steel hull with bulbous bow. Plus they will enjoy exceptional sea keeping and unparalleled performance.
