Concrete Speakers That Offer Concrete Sound from Concrete Audio

We already know what most of you are saying. Speakers made form concrete? That’s right and you’ll be amazed at the actual performance. Concrete Audio is a company from Germany. They will be showcasing their best concrete speaker products at this week’s HIGH END audio show in Munich, Germany.

HIGH END runs from May 5 to 8 and Concrete Audio will be announcing and demonstrating their new subwoofer S1. The S1 follows the company’s other high quality speakers, including the audiophile floorstander N1 and ultra flat on-wall speaker F1.

Concrete Audio designs and produces high-end loudspeaker systems. The products are unique since they are made form concrete but also provide a timeless elegance and incredible audio dynamics.

Concrete has been around this the Roman Empire days. It’s a simple formula of cement, water and sand. But when the final product after the Concrete Audio process is completed, the result is a smooth surface similar to cut stone. The finished look can be enhanced with various techniques. It can be be lacquered or real wood veneered. The surface can also be sealed using polish, wax or oil.

So what drove the company to design and develop a concrete speaker? Audio specialists know that the key to a great loudspeaker is its housing cannot vibrate. If it does, there is a distortion of the sound and it is heard as unnnatural.

Although they come with a distinctive and stylish lok, they are heavy. That seems to be the major issue when one first hears about them. But the accolades are numerous. For example, musician and producer Nils Landgren was quoted, “I have never in my life heard Chet Baker sound so good! If you are looking for concrete sound, check out Concrete Audio.”

The brand’s F1 speaker is flat concrete speaker. It was developed along with the Ilmenau Fraunhofer Institute IDMT. Since it’s so thin, it can actually be mounted on a wall. The floorstander N1 is a passive tower speaker. It’s an awesome speaker and produces a totally, natural sound.

It doesn’t matter if you are an audio purist or want to be a trendsetter, take a closer look at the incredible concrete speaker products from Concrete Audio.

Impress your friends and family the next time you entertain with concrete speakers from Concrete Audio. Come back soon to read more audio and technology articles in our luxury blog. Let us know if you are interested in learning more.

Took 35 Years, But Stolen Stradivarius Violin Recovered

It’s been 35 long and frustrating years, but a stolen, Stradivarius violin has finally been recovered. The rare violin was stolen back in 1980 and was owned by a young, talented violinist named Roman Totenberg.

Although Phillip Johnson was a suspect right after the initial theft, the police were unable to pursue the lead due to a lack of evidence. The rare violin was taken from Totenberg’s office at Longy Music School in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

After Johnson had passed away, his ex-wife and new boyfriend discovered a locked violin case while doing some housecleaning. They broke the case lock and discovered the violin. There was a label that read 1734 and was made by Antonio Stradivari, who was the most famous violin maker ever.

Sadly, Mr. Totenberg will not personally enjoy the return of the missing Stradivarius Violin since he passed away from cancer at the age of 58.

Since Mr. Totenberg had received a $250,000 insurance settlement soon after the theft, an agreement was made in a U.S, federal court that if the $250,000 was repaid, the three surviving daughters of Mr. Totenberg would receive the valuable Stradivarius violin.

It’s been reported that there are less than 650 Stradivarius violins in existence today. Like thieves trying to resell fine art, it can be be extremely difficult to sell a stolen Stradivarius violin due to its rarity. Due it’s authenticity, the recovered violin could be worth several million dollars.

I expect we may see this particular Stradivarius violin appear at a high-end, public auction where the bidding can reach atmospheric levels as avid collectors try to outbid each other to own this rare violin.

If you enjoy reading about interesting luxury news stories like the recovery of the stolen Stradivarius violin, then come back often to follow our popular luxury blog. We enjoy sharing the best news from the world of luxury.

Bid and Win a Jimmy Page Replica Gibson, “Number Two” Les Paul Guitar

Famous lead guitarist Jimmy Page from the legendary rock band Led Zepplin was known for his tremendous electric guitar solos. Now you can bid and possibly win one of two Jimmy Page replica guitars!

These two high end, collectible Jimmy Page guitars are replicas of his awesome Gibson, 1959 Les Paul. Jimmy Page began using the Les Paul in the 1970’s and he named it “Number Two.” Gibson Custom recreated only 25 limited edition, “Number Two” guitars about four years ago with Page’s personal signature. 325 total were produced. 100 were aged by vintage-reproduction master Tom Murphy, plus 200 were finished to match Gibson’s VOS specs.

The guitar replicas are so spot on that even the unique wear of the Page’s original guitar through decades of use were mirrored. There are wear marks, dents and even minor dings. Page himself owns guitar #1 himself.

Jimmy Page guitar - Led Zepplin

The other 1959 Les Paul replica guitars became popular collectibles. Now you can have the chance to actually own guitars #2 and #5 in this very special charity auction. The guitar auction is supporting the two deserving charitable organizations – Little Kids Rock and USO. The auction will begin on Thursday June 19, 2014 at 4PM PDT and runs until Sunday, June 29 at 4PM PDT and will be hosted by Guitar Center at – www.ebay.com/jimmypagelespaul

The two, limited-edition guitars are both individually numbered, personally signed and even played by Jimmy Page. The minimum auction bid starts at $20,000. The winners also receive a certificate of authenticity.

Guitar Center is the world’s largest retailer of guitars, amplifiers, drums, keyboards, recording, live sound, DJ and lighting equipment. 2014 is a major milestone year for Guitar Center. It’s the company’s 50th anniversary and continue their ongoing tradition of helping people make music.

Jimmy Page originally had the electronics of his “Number Two” guitar modified to try and achieve the widest possible range of sounds from two humbucker pickups. Page even tried to match his “Number One” Les Paul by having the iconic guitar’s neck shaved down.

The Custom Shop replica of the Jimmy Page “Number Two” Les Paul, is made with the finest material such as Grover tuners, stopbar tailpiece and the period-correct “antique bell” truss rod cover. Each of the guitar’s controls’ potentiometers was replaced with a push-pull pot to allow individual pickup of switching functions.

Whitney Houston was once on top of the world, as one of the most successful and talented performers ever.

Sadly, it’s been reported by the Associated Press that Whitney Houston has died, leaving behind a legacy marred by personal issues that often overshadowed her musical brilliance. Whitney Houston was just 48 years old.

Lt. Mark Rosen of the Beverly Hills police department explained to local L.A. TV station KABC-TV that Whitney Houston died in her room on the fourth floor of the famous Beverly Hilton Hotel.

As of this time, there is no known cause of death. While the investigation is underway by Beverly Hills detectives, Whitney Houston’s body is still inside the hotel room.

Tomorrow night is the Grammy Awards and it was reported that Whitney Houston planned to attend and even showed up at the Grammy rehearsals today, coaching singers Brandy and Monica.

The life and career of Whitney Houston had many extreme ups and downs. Whitney had a severe drug use problem that caused strange, erratic behavior. Her volatile marriage to singer Bobby Brown often made the headlines, but for all the wrong reasons.

In addition to being a superstar singer, Whitney Houston was also an accomplished actor. Houston appeared and starred in several box office hit movies, such as The Bodyguard and Waiting to Exhale.

As Whitney Houston’s drug abuse increased, her album sales free-falled. Her public appearances were quite strange as the toll of her drug abuse became more evident. She has confessed to using cocaine, marijuana and various pills.

In the music industry, Whitney Houston was at her best. Whitney was one of the top-selling artists in pop music history and sold more than 55 million records just in the United States alone!

In 2009, it appeared Whitney Houston was on the comeback trail. She launched a new album titled “I Look To You.” That album debuted on the top of the charts, eventually going platinum.
