GRAVITATION Art Display at Delano Las Vegas Hotel

The Delano Las Vegas is an incredible, all-suite property. Located in a 43-story tower on the Mandalay Bay Resort property, the luxury Las Vegas hotel’s lobby directly connects to the popular Mandalay Bay. The Delano Las Vegas offers guests large rooms, as well a excellent service and food.

From now until July 6, the Delano Las Vegas hotel is presenting “GRAVITATION.” It’s a new art exhibit from Zak Ostrowski. As an artist, designer and builder – Zak Ostrowski creates impressive art pieces of all forms and sizes by utilizing diverse materials. Zak has created numerous fine art pieces such as sculpture and paintings to large scale, public art installations.

Zak Ostrowski stated, “Delano Las Vegas is a very unique Strip hotel as it is so mindful of its environment. The design of Delano is representative of the natural beauty found throughout Las Vegas and beyond – like the red rocks and colors of the sunsets – and my art is meant to be a reflection of the same elements.”

GRAVITATION was developed with the Delano Las Vegas hotel’s Mojave-inspired design in mind. For example, the sleek sculptural bench is made from concrete and is a combination of nature, art and design. The piece also incorporates representations of desert sandstone, depicting the surrounding Las Vegas desert.

Matthew Chilton is General Manager of Delano Las Vegas luxury hotel and was quoted, “Immersing our guests in art and culture is an important component of the Delano experience. We are excited to showcase the work of such a talented local artist to our guests from around the world, especially since the inspiration for GRAVITATION is rooted in Las Vegas’ natural surroundings.”

After viewing the GRAVITATION art display by Zak Ostrowski, be sure to check out one of the unique social spaces at the Delano Las Vegas – the Franklin is an eclectic lounge, Della’s Kitchen is where “historic farmhouse meets urban kitchen” or enjoy a warm drink at 3940 Coffee + Tea.

Michael Mina is the highly acclaimed and James Beard Award-winning chef and will deliver a modern and sexy spin on the traditional French brasserie experience at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

Chef Michael Mina was quoted, “For chefs, French cuisine is a homecoming of sorts, since much of our initial training is rooted in French technique. With BARDOT, we’re looking to pay homage to all the classics while embracing the French philosophy of ‘Joie de vivre’ and you’ll see it in everything – from the food and drink to the atmosphere – the experience is going to be a celebration of that lifestyle.”

Here’s a summary of what savory dishes you can enjoy at Bardot Brasserie:

Hors D’oeuvres
· Foie Gras Parfait – Renowned for his caviar parfait, Mina developed this concoction by combining foie gras and port wine gelée, which can then be placed on fresh grilled country bread.

· Duck Wings À L’Orange – Mina adds an approachable twist to this French dish by preparing it as wood-grilled wings, cooked with seasonal citrus and sauce maltaise.

· Croque Madame – Bursting with flavor at every bite, this popular French sandwich is loaded with Parisian ham, Gruyere fondue and topped with an organic egg.

Entrees
· Sautéed Skate Wing – Adventurous eaters will enjoy the presentation of this scaly fish, complemented by wood-roasted cauliflower purée, wild capers, parsley, brown butter and lemon.

· Monkfish Bourride – Another exotic fish to round out BARDOT’s culinary offerings, the monkfish is poached in olive oil, accented by a garlic aioli and served with black mussels, fingerling potatoes and braised leeks.

Customizable Selections
· Onion Soup Gratinée – Chef Mina takes the classic French Onion Soup to the next level by giving guests the option of adding perigord truffles, braised oxtail and a soft-poached egg, creating a multi-textured, flavorful soup.

· Fruits de Mer – Seafood aficionados will rejoice over the opportunity to create a tower of under-the-sea delights. Choosing between the Brasserie Luxe or Brasserie Royale sizes, guests can fill their plates with lobster, king crab, oysters, clams and shrimp.

· Les Steak Frites – For those new to the world of French cuisine, Steak Frites is an excellent place to start. Guests can select from an 8 oz. Hanger, 12 oz. Ribeye or 8 oz. Filet, which can be enhanced with béarnaise, au poivre, bordelaise or foie gras butter. Pair the succulent meat with a hearty portion of fries and bon appétit!

Celebrate New Year’s Eve – Las Vegas Style!

Las Vegas is known as the Entertainment Capital of the World. The city is alive with non-stop gaming and entertainment at some of the most recognized resorts in the world.

With New Year’s Eve in a couple of days, there is a lot to do in Las Vegas to celebrate the arrival of 2015. Would you like to enjoy an amazing fireworks display or try 23-karat gold flecked lasagna? How about seeing Justin Timberlake in concert on New Years Day? Las Vegas is the place to be!

We wanted to share 10 fun ideas from vegas.com to celebrate New Year’s Eve – Sin City style!

10) Dance the year away. If confetti blasts and partying like a rock star are more your style, check out the top headliners at the finest nightclubs in the world. Calvin Harris with Eva Shaw & Burns will headline a special New Year’s Eve set at Hakkasan at MGM Grand. Alesso will drop beats at LIGHT at Mandalay Bay and The Bank at Bellagio will feature an exclusive live performance by Trey Songz.

9) Taste the decadence. Say adieu to 2014 at The Mirage with Portofino’s White Diamond truffle and 23-karat gold flaked lasagna. The $100 “Diamond and Gold” Lasagna tantalizes taste buds with layers of pasta stuffed with porcini mushrooms, Iberico ham, Prosciutto di Parma, 24-month-aged Parmigiano-Reggiano, buffalo mozzarella and Kobe Bolognese. This luxurious creation is finished with foie gras-infused Alfredo sauce.

8) Pig out. Steak is so 2014; celebrate the start of 2015 at Monte Carlo’s Yusho with a whole pig’s head. Cooked for a full 24 hours and served with a plethora of Japanese fixings like stuffed buns, cabbage kimchi and bowls of ramen, this will be a New Year’s Eve dinner you won’t soon forget. Just be sure to order at least a full day in advance.

7) Party with Macklemore. If you’re donning your latest thrift shop finds this New Year’s Eve, 1OAK at The Mirage is the place to be, as Grammy Award-winning hip-hop duo Macklemore and Ryan Lewis take the stage to perform hits like “Thrift Shop” and “Same Love.”

6) Go out with a bang. Fireworks light up the sky along Las Vegas Boulevard at midnight so it’s crucial to find a good vantage point well ahead of time. miX Lounge at Delano Las Vegas boasts an outdoor patio and floor-to-ceiling windows facing The Strip. You won’t miss a single burst with this epic view.

5) Beef up your new year. Ring in the New Year with the most indulgent burger experience on The Strip – the legendary FleurBurger 5000 from celebrated chef Hubert Keller of Fleur at Mandalay Bay. The foie gras and black truffle-topped Kobe burger is accompanied by a bottle of Chateau Petrus 1995 poured in Ichendorf Brunello stemware, imported from Italy. After the meal, Fleur will ship the glasses to your home along with a personal note from Chef Keller. All this decadence for the price of $5,000!

4) Catch the water works. Water and fire usually don’t play well together, but on New Year’s Eve on The Strip, it might be the best mash-up yet! Using dramatic music, water and light, The Fountains of Bellagio soar up to 460 feet in beautifully choreographed synchronization. With the glimmering fireworks in the background and the waterworks right in front of you, the combination makes for one stunning sight!

3) Cure your hangover. Hangovers are all too common come New Year’s Day. Luckily, Vegas has as many hangover cures as ways to incur said hangover. Developed by a group of experienced emergency room physicians, REVIV, located at The Underground at MGM Grand, features a wide range of intravenous and vitamin therapies to combat hangovers including three different types of IV therapies. If the “hair of the dog” cure is more your style, check out the Instagram-worthy Bloody Mary at Todd English P.U.B. inside The Shops at Crystals, where a cart is rolled tableside and guests select from an insane amount of garnishes including a bacon cheeseburger slider, a chicken wing, shrimp and a mini corn dog.

2) Paint the town gold. Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino will transform into a golden wonderland, complete with elaborate gold-themed accents, lavish culinary selections, incredible cocktails and more. The masquerade-style affair encourages guests to welcome 2015 in an exuberant environment. The party continues with chart-toppers Maroon 5 as they take over the Mandalay Bay Events Center for two special performances December 30 and 31.

1) Put on your suit and tie. In Vegas, the party doesn’t end at the stroke of midnight. This year, continue your celebration of a fresh start, a new year and a new day with none other than Justin Timberlake, who will close out his 20/20 Experience World Tour January 1 and 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Lago will feature a luxurious dining room with stunning floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows, thus allowing sensational views of the Bellagio resort’s iconic fountains. Next to the dining room, patrons can enjoy an open-air patio and experience waterfront seating on beautiful, 8 1⁄2-acre Lake Bellagio.

Lago will become the first Italian restaurant from the Michelin-decorated and James Beard Award-winning Chef Julian Serrano. Lago will feature a small plate menu to celebrate the creativity and signature flavors of Chef Serrano. In addition, Lago restaurant will introduce a sophisticated mixology program with unique preparations.

The small, savory Italian dishes will deliver reinvented presentations so restaurant guests can enjoy eating a wide variety of cuisine from Chef Serrano. Dining selections will include carpaccio and bruschetta; an assortment of pizzas; fresh pastas such as risotto and gnocchi; in addition to delicious tasting, main dish such as salmon, steak and chicken.

Randy Morton is the Bellagio President and COO and was quoted, “Lago pulls from rich Italian history and culture while delivering a cutting-edge culinary experience – two hallmarks of the Bellagio brand. And as suggested by the name, which means lake in Italian, Lago’s guests will enjoy the most striking Fountain views in the city.”

The interior of Lago restaurant showcases a façade to immediately capture the attention of dining guests and seen from across the Bellagio resort. Upon entering Lago, you are enveloped in a colorful, 15 by 100 foot mosaic that’s made from Italian glass and portrays an aerial map of Milan, Italy.

If you would like to enjoy a nice cocktail before or after your meal, try the intimate lounge with a gorgeous glass-and-chrome mixology counter.

Chef Serrano is excited about opening Lago early next year and stated, “Lago will deliver a fresh experience for the Bellagio guest and Las Vegas local, not only in the cuisine, but also in the ambiance. As people step into Lago, they will be embraced in a setting that is energetic, engaging, approachable and fun – all inspired by the sights, sounds and flavors of Italy.”
