Although it’s been hinted and talked about for a while, Bentley has officially entered the luxury SUV market with the new 2016 Bentayga SUV.

Bentley has been targeting the luxury SUV market and looks to redefine the auto segment. The new 2016 Bentayga SUV from Bentley will feature a twin-turbocharged 12-cylinder engine, offering 600 horsepower and 660 foot-pounds of torque.

The British luxury car manufacturer unveiled the 2016 Bentayga SUV at the recent 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany. Bentley is promoting the new luxury SUV as the most powerful, most luxurious, most exclusive and fastest SUV in the world. Now that’s going to turn some heads!

The 2016 Bentayga is based on the Audi Q7 platform and will reach impressive top speeds – going from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in about 4.1 seconds. The luxury SUV’s top speed is expected to hit 301 km/h (187 mph). Experience a VIP experience driving this blazing fast luxury SUV.

The expected price tag for the 2016 Bentayga sport utility vehicle is $229,000 and is schedule to be available in the U.S. in early 2016. Bentley now joins both the Lamborghini Urus and Rolls-Royce Cullinan with plans to soon introduce ultra-luxury SUVs.

Michael Winkler is the Bentley Motors Americas CEO and stated that the Bentayga is about “bespoke luxury.” With the incredible speeds that the Bentayga can deliver, Winkler added, “If a car is capable of that you have to remember that it has so much more reserves at 25 mph or 60 mph.”

Although all the buzz in Frankfurt, Germany was about the new 2016 Bentayga, Bentley also displayed the Continental GT, the GT3 racer, the Mulsanne Speed> In addition the Bentley collection, consists of 100 accessories with the iconic Bentley brand.

Today, the Infinity QX50 sedan is one the most powerful and versatile crossover cars in the segment. For the upcoming 2016 Infinity QX50 model, expect a bigger interior, enhanced styling, plus a longer wheelbase.

The Infiniti QX50 was first introduced as the Infiniti EX35 sedan. It became popular as one of the first, personal crossover vehicles on the market. The EX35 was the first car to offer new technology features including Infiniti’s own Around View® Monitor. Car owners could choose between Intelligent All-Wheel Drive or rear-wheel drive, plus it came with one of the most powerful engines in its car class.

The new 2016 Infiniti QX50 will feature a luxurious interior, an array of advanced technology features, plus a stylish exterior that will turn heads and people will quickly recognize on the road. All grade levels of the new QX50 will come with a moonroof. The Infinity’s wheelbase is being extended by 3.2 inches. A new Hagane Blue exterior color option will also be available to car buyers. The other six exterior colors are: Malbec Black, Midnight Garnet, Graphite Shadow, Liquid Platinum, Black Obsidian and Moonlight White.

Randy Parker is the vice president of Infiniti Americas and was quotes, “Following the 2015 introductions of the updated Infiniti Q70 and the addition of the Q70L long-wheelbase version and new range-topping QX80 Limited full-size SUV, we’re kicking off model year 2016 with the updated QX50.”

The outside of the new 2016 Infiniti QX50 will feature large L-shaped headlights with new LED Daytime Running Lights, integrated fog lights, “dynamic arch” profile, xenon auto-leveling headlights and stylish LED taillights. Part of the Deluxe Touring Package, enjoy the new 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. Standard package is the 18-inch 8-spoke metallic finish aluminum-alloy wheels with 225/55R18 all-season tires. The car’s rear hatchback spoiler includes an integrated brake light.

The QX50 will also come with a new front and rear bumpers with lower fascia, new double-arch front grille, in addition to new side mirrors that come integrated with LED turn signals.

The interior of the 2016 Infiniti QX50 is incredibly nice. By extending the wheelbase by 3.2 inches, there is now more room inside – equaling an 8.3 cubic feet increase in interior volume. Higher ground clearance allows the driver a higher vantage point that results in improved visibility. The interior of the new QX50 will utilize standard premium leather-appointed seating surfaces. A choice of three different colors are available – Wheat, Graphite as well as Chestnut.

The cabin layout is definitely driver-focused. Enjoy the easy-to-read high-contrast gauges, Infiniti’s signature “double-wave” instrument panel, plus hospitality lighting with pin LED light over the console. Passengers will enjoy the standard premium leather-appointed seating that also comes with heated front seats. Infinity utilizes textured, aluminum accents throughout the car’s cabin. Infinity states the car’s fuel economy is rated at 17 mpg city/25 mpg highway for rear-wheel drive models. For all-wheel drive models, the car manufacturer says to expect 17 mpg city/24 mpg highway.

There will be two models available – the 2016 Infinity QX50 and QX50 AWD. The four option packages available are – Premium Package, Premium Plus Package, Technology Package and Deluxe Touring Package.

Many car enthusiasts consider the iconic Ferrari F40 as the greatest supercar ever built. But for whatever reason, the Ferrari F40 has not achieved the same fame as other Ferrari’s during public auctions.

A new record was just set for a gorgeous 1992 Ferrari F40 supercar. The staggering price for the winning auction bid was $1.2 million or €1.12 million. The Ferrari F40 was the last car sold by Ferrari founder – Enzo Ferrari.

The auction was held in Nürburgring, Germany – which is a popular motorsports complex near the German town of Nürburg. The auction was sponsored by Coys and they state the winning bid was a record breaker for a Ferrari F40.

Recently, prices for the F40 have risen rapidly. Not too long away, you could have picked up one on eBay Motors for under $600,000 using the “Buy It Now” option. Looks like that bargain price will now be a thing of the past and car lovers of this classic, 1992 Ferari F40 supercar will have to depart with a lot for money.

The Ferrari was first sold in 1987 and records show only 1,315 were manufactured. The F40 was built for just several years. But when it was available, it was definitely the fastest and most powerful car form Italian carmaker Ferrari. It was also quite pricey and also the most expensive, Ferari road car.

Historians will note that the Ferrari F40 was launched in 1987 to honor 40th anniversary of Ferrari. Great cars always stand the test of time.

The 1992 Ferrari F40 wasn’t the only high priced car sold during the Coys auction. For a winning bid of €562,000 or $616,250, a 1937 BMW 328 Roadster was sold.

Scheduled for availability in early fall 2015, the 2016 Cadillac ELR Coupe will include not only improved performance, but also additional luxury features and enhanced dynamics. The 2016 model will be faster than ever – going 0-60 MPH in just 6.4 seconds. That’s a significant 1.5 second improvement over the current ELR model.

The car’s handling will be updated and expect improved connectivity plus wireless device charging and OnStar 4G LTE. Cadillac will deliver additional standard content in the 2016 Cadillac ELR beyond what the current car model offers. There will be both new safety and security features. The new ELR will boast a re-tuned chassis and steering for improved road handling.

Its bold and stylish body design makes it an instant head-turner on the road. The 2016 Cadillac ELR Coupe will feature an increase in both torque and horsepower, in addition to upgraded brakes. The front grill looks slightly modified. There will also be the capability for wireless battery pack charging. The car’s battery is 17.1 kWh 360 V lithium-ion.

Last year in September, the inaugural Primland Driving Experience was held at the Virginia International Raceway (VIR). The raceway is also the home of Car and Driver’s annual Lightning Lap. The race track is surrounded by 12,000 acres of Virginia’s scenic Blue Ridge Mountains.

Italian car manufacturer Lamborghini, announced its new luxury SUV – Urus. The Lamborghini SUV is likely to become both the fastest and most expensive trucks anywhere in the world.

Joining a more crowded field of luxury SUV’s, the Lamborghini SUV will compete against the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Maserati Levante and Bentley Bentayga, plus who knows what other luxury SUV models will available in 2018.

The Lamborghini SUV was originally displayed based on the Urus concept back in 2012 at the Beijing Motor Show (see photo above). Lamborghini appears to be targeting the fast-growing, SUV segment, plus offering another buying option for its own clientele. The two primary Lamborghini car models currently offered are the Huracán and Aventador coupes.

Lamborghini will be expanding its Italian, Sant’Agata Bolognese factory to handle the SUV production. Current plant size of 80,000 square meters will be growing to about 150,000 square meters, as reported by Lamborghini. Over the lifecycle of the new Lamborghini SUV, hundreds of millions of Euros will be invested in the factory expansion. The plant growth will also require about 500 new employees to be hired, which will help the local economy in Italy.

Stephan Winkelmann is the Automobili Lamborghini President and CEO and was quoted, “This is a proud moment for everybody in Lamborghini. The introduction of a third model line endorses the stable and sustainable growth of the company and signifies for us the beginning of a new era. The new SUV will be made in Sant’Agata Bolognese, demonstrating our commitment to safeguarding the values of ‘Made in Italy’ worldwide.”

The Lamborghini Urus isn’t the first SUV from the Italian luxury car maker. It produced the LM002 model between 1986 and 1993. It was a blend of an off-road vehicle and luxury supercar.

Lamborghini expects to sell about 3,000 Urus models a year, and relying on the growing number of millionaires in the U.S., China, Middle East, Europe and Russia to fuel the demand.

Tesla Motors is the poplar manufacturer of electric-cars. They recently announced a new base model car – Tesla Model S 70D – to be part of their battery-electric, luxury sedan portfolio. The “D” stands for dual motor.

What is surprising is that the new entry level car will actually be pricier than Tesla’s more expensive starter vehicle. With a price tag of $75,000, the new Tesla Model S 70D is an all-wheel-drive Model S. The car has a 240 mile range rating and is powered by a 70-kilowatt-hour battery pack.

The Tesla Model S first was introduced in the 2012 model year, and has gone through several changes over the last few years. This year brings a welcome feature many have been waiting for – all-wheel-drive!

The Tesla Model S 70D electric car is a five-seat luxury sedan but his some real speed. With an all-wheel-drive, 514 horsepower engine, the car takes only 5.2 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph.

The Tesla Model S 70D will come with lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic keyless entry, parking sensors, as well as GPS-enabled Homelink system.

The previous, Tesla entry vehicle from the Model S line was the 60. It did not offer all-wheel drive and had a price of $71,100. It also lacked several features such as a navigation system, automatic keyless access, and blind-spot monitor. The Tesla S 60 required more frequent stops to recharge and the cars acceleration was slower.

Another nice perk is with the Model S 70D base model, you can receive free electricity at any of the Tesla SuperCharger locations. The Modle S 70D is now available for sale.

Although the S 70D base price tag is $75,000, you can take advantage of a federal tax credit that can drop the cost to own your own Tesla to $67,500. Tesla officials have stated they feel the their new model go up against both the BMW’s 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Series luxury sedans.
