Luxury watch brand Frederique Constant prides itself in being a true Swiss watch manufacturer. They create their own movements and assemble their watches by hand. The watch brand asked French artist seconde/seconde/ to find a way to convey the message in his own distinctive, cheeky style. Perhaps, he may have gone too far. The result is two altered limited editions of the Slimline Moonphase Date Manufacture.

One watch Slimline Moonphase edition is steel and limited to just 100 examples. The other edition is steel with a rose gold tone crown and dial elements. This one is limited to only 10 pieces.

Yet, the finely polished three-part 42mm stainless steel case, the subtly sparkling matt silver dial and harmonious moonphase and date display are all there. Take a closer look and notice nothing is as it seems.

The applied hour markers appear to be weirdly and unevenly dispatched. Plus, the script of the logo and the date indication look like they were hand-written. Even the moonphase disk’s moon and stars look uneven and drawn by hand. For seconde/seconde/ though, it makes perfect sense. In 2023, luxury brand Frederique Constant celebrate its 35th anniversary. In addition, it’s the 15th anniversary of its iconic Tourbillon calibre. For the occasion, the Maison has unveiled a Classic Tourbillon Meteorite Manufacture luxury watch in platinum. The new watch features a meteorite dial and limited to only 35 pieces.

For the first time, each individual timepiece is finished completely by hand. This undertaking is done by two Frederique Constant watchmakers, who’s goal is to ensure the highest degree of hand-finishing possible on the movement.

The Classic Tourbillon Meteorite Manufacture includes only 35 handcrafted and numbered pieces. This it’s the ultimate must-have watch. The cut-out in its dial at 6 o’clock reveals the Manufacture tourbillon created by Frederique Constant in 2008. It’s one of the few tourbillons available in a platinum case with a meteorite dial to be currently available on the market.

Another noteworthy fact is the entire hand-finishing of all the components of the movement. This exceptional and unprecedented achievement is the work of two watchmakers specializing in the Maison’s Manufacture and complication movements.

The watchmakers spent weeks using traditional instruments and tools, working on the meticulous finishing of each of the components. For example, a buff file for beveling and a hammer and punch for hand-punching. Also, 9-micron sandpaper for charbonnage of the frame (bridge) and the base of the tourbillon cage. Continuing, a single bridge alone requires between two and three days of work.

To ensure visual coherence with the color of the meteorite dial, the movement also sports a ruthenium finish. This is very rare for Frederique Constant and indeed in the watchmaking industry as a whole. Yet, all the more reason for adopting it here. Each engraving includes the timepiece’s individual number. It is rhodium-plated to ensure the characters stand out clearly.

Luxury watch brand Frederique Constant introduces three new variations of the Classics Carree Automatic watch collection.  Going back to its original era and the roaring twenties, the new watches emerge with a stylistic audacity.  Yes, the resulting imprint is still perceptible.

The new Classics Carree Automatic luxury watch collection is very refined.  The stunning rose gold-plated or steel timepieces rely on a minimalist style. They include baton indexes, dauphine hands and date. In addition, a dial with a subtle guilloché pattern gives the Classics Carrée Automatic a rare elegance for aesthete collectors.

The new Classics Carree Automatic watches from Frederique Constant are available in three versions. Each is powered by the FC-303 caliber offering 38 hours of power reserve. The caliber is clearly visible through the sapphire caseback. Continuing, the most sober and classic come with a steel case, silver dial and black leather strap. The most modern comes in the same case with a blue dial on a matching bracelet in the same tone. It’s topstitched in blue. The most chic and precious prefers a pink gold-plated case with shared indexes and hands, on a brown strap.

First launched in 2003, the Classics Carree Automatic is evolving again and significantly. First, a major change is the Heart Beat opening closes. Plus, the housing is the well-kept secret of the Swiss Made mechanism of the timepiece. Hence, this is how the face of a new, much more streamlined dial emerges. For example, the large Roman numerals give way to applied indexes, doubled at noon. The style is timeless and much closer to the aesthetic canons of the 20s.

The date window at 6 o’clock reproduces the rectangular line of the case. Therefore, it is dressed in a frame of the same finish as the latter, also shared by the indexes.

You will find in the center of the dial, the most refined finishes. First, a rectangle with the exact proportions of the 30.4 x 33.3 mm case. It’s closed by a “railway” type timer, typical of the 1920s and the Art Deco movement that ran through them. Next, a very fine grooving dresses it. As a result, it offers a sole gaze of its owner.

This subtlety makes it possible to offer a better contrast to the set of three hands. Of course, the hours and minutes are shaped in the Dauphine style. Thus, a geometry is also characteristic of the past century. This simple, refined shape allows the time to be read perfectly in all circumstances. This is due to two facets. Each is oriented at two divergent angles. Therefore, at least one of the two always captures the light. Brillant design!

The Heartbeat Manufacture watch has a diameter of 42mm. The watch dial has been refreshed. As a result, you’ll notice emblematic Roman numeral display and at the 6 o’clock position, the featured aperture. The watch also includes the latest FC-930-2 in-house caliber.

The watch’s wide aperture at 6 o’clock reveals the heart of the movement. For ease of use to the watch owner, all functions are easily adjustable via the crown. The watch dial is navy blue in color.
