RUMOR Las Vegas hotel - Camouflage mega-suite bathroom
RUMOR Las Vegas hotel – Camouflage mega-suite bathroom

Rumor Las Vegas is the trendy 150-suite boutique hotel, located across from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

Opened in 2010, the Rumor Las Vegas décor of their front lobby and lounge is hip, sexy and fun, featuring contrasting shades of charcoal accent with purple hues and select ornate, yet simple touches.

Named the first true boutique hotel in Las Vegas, Rumor Las Vegas features four chromatic, luxury mega-suites. Each suite at Rumor Las Vegas will showcase its own unique design and feel. Weekday pricing is scheduled to begin between $350 and $500 on the weekends.

These new luxury suites will face towards Rumor’s signature 30,000 square foot courtyard, decorated with hammock-strung matured swaying palm trees, grassy knolls and pools.

In addition to the suite’s distinctive color scheme, they will also feature dynamic and impressive, yet complimentary hand-painted murals.

Each of the Rumor Las Vegas suites is 1,000 square feet in size. The first floor suites open up to a large, oversized patio located just steps from the swimming pool and the courtyard events.

The second floor suites feature French doors that open up to an oversized balcony with lounge chairs to check out all the courtyard action below.

Other luxury amenities at the new Rumor Las Vegas suites include: iPod docking stations; wet bar; mini refrigerator; four-seater high boys with a glass top; two custom-made couches with throw pillows; coffee table, 60-inch plasma in the bedroom/living room area and a 32-inch plasma in the bathroom. Speaking of the spacious bathroom, every suite is also equipped with an “ultra-lounge/party bathroom” featuring a 10-person, open shower with two rain showerheads and a plush u-shaped couch that comfortably seats 10.

THE GOSSIP MEGA-SUITE
RUMOR Las Vegas hotel - Gossip mega-suite

The girly-girl “Gossip Mega-Suite” boasts shades of hot and pale pink with splashes of fuchsia. Mirrored stripes of bright pink traversing in multiple directions are noticeable upon entry. A provocatively posed woman conveniently losing her top is this suite’s mural. The second mural is of two lip-locked females wearing purple and pink lipstick.

—————————————————————

THE SWINGER MEGA-SUITE
RUMOR Las Vegas hotel - Swinger mega-suite

Murals designed and created by Chemical Spaces adorn the suites.  One mural hangs over the bed, while the other surprises guests upon entry of the bathroom.  In the appropriately named “Swinger Mega-Suite,” mirrored stripes zig zag the walls throughout the black bedroom area.  Bookending the California-king bed propped on a small stage with spotlights at the foot of the bed are crisscrossed metal poles.  The bedroom mural: the torso of a woman wearing a white, unlaced corset while the bathroom mural shows a woman wearing thigh high stockings and snapping her black thong.

THE DIVA MEGA-SUITE
RUMOR Las Vegas hotel - Diva mega-suite

Last but definitely not least, the “Diva Mega-Suite” shows black floral painting against deep red walls. Only in this suite are there two queen beds with white sheets and black and silver throw pillows that face one another with plush fabric headboards stretching across the walls and ceiling. A woman holding a vibrant red rose is the mural that greets guests. The bathroom’s mural is a woman with pale lips and red and black smoky eyes.

—————————————————————

THE CAMOUFLAGE MEGA-SUITE
RUMOR Las Vegas hotel - Camouflage mega-suite

Blue camouflage swirls around the guests from the floor to the ceiling in the “Camouflage Mega-Suite.”  The tri-colored effect is also layered with barren black trees with twigs at the top.  A woman with piercing blue eyes and hair is the mural in this suite.  The bed has blue, white and silver throw pillows with a mirror hung right above it.  Dark and pale gray tile stripe the floors both inside the bedroom and bathroom.

Welcome to Your Screensaver: Namale Resort & Spa in Fiji

Namale Resort honeymoon suite
Namale Resort

There’s one obnoxious trend in the early 2000s that I am happy to see disappear. I used to receive “Don’t You Wish You Were Here Instead” email attachments with photos of heavenly Eden-esque paradise with clear blue waters, sunset with the perfect blend of orange and yellow, and colorful exotic fish that swim up directly up to your hotel cabin.

Now I know where these photos were collected: the Namale Resort and Spa in Fiji.

Host to ABC show, The Bachelorette, the Namale Resort is nothing short of amazing. Staying there is like taking a vacation in your screensaver.

The elegant Namale Resort is built on the boulders and seacliffs of Vanua, Levu, Fiji’s second largest island. Known for its expertise in infusing magic into any honeymoon, Tatadra (Dream House) suite boasts 3,000 square feet of luxury.

A living/dining room overlooking the private pool and ocean, glass-walled master suite with a four-poster bed, raised Jacuzzi for two, and a hanging-bed pavilion, are just a few of the features that set Namale apart.

Recently voted one of the Top 50 Most Romantic Places on Earth and Fiji’s #1 all-inclusive resort and spa, Namale Resort encourages life at a slow, relaxing pace. As soon as you check-in, every amenity you can think of is in your own Fijian bure or villa overlooking the Koro Sea or on the resort.

The Namale Resort will tempt you to revive the obnoxious “Wish You Were Here” email tradition.

The luxurious Fairmont Mission Inn & Spa truly offers its guests an unforgettable experience in the heart of Northern California’s wine country.

The area is rich in history with its roots deep in Native American culture. From the time a natural underground hot spring was discovered, local tribes considered it a place of sacred healing.

Located on the site of original mission in Sonoma, the Fairmont Mission Inn & Spa was built in the style of a mission back in 1926.

The Fairmont Mission Inn & Spa exudes class, style and elegance and is clearly the premier Northern California wine country destination resort.

The hotel is comprised of beautiful Mexican, mission-style buildings that are covered in both natural colored stucco and stone.

As you arrive and proceed down the circular driveway, you are politely greeted by the hotel valet staff. Approaching the hotel entrance along paved stones, you’ll notice a three-tier circular fountain that dominates the entrance plaza.

The spacious lobby offers its guests a chance to relax in the sitting area consisting of large, comfortable couches and wing-backed chairs.

The multi-story main building also includes beautiful arched windows that allow gazing out on the hotel’s main grounds.

For fine dining, you are in for a treat. Santé Restaurant is the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa’s signature dining room and has proudly achieved national status. This premier dining establishment was recently awarded the coveted Michelin star for the second year in a row in the new Michelin Guide San Francisco, Bay Area & Wine Country 2011.

We stayed in the romantic, signature Mission Suite. The suite includes a comfortable, king-size four-poster bed with a down filled comforter. The suite features a separate seating area, including a roomy love seat and two chairs, located in front of a wood burning fireplace and wall-mounted LCD TV.

Gorgeous French doors with wooden, plantation shutters revealed a ground level patio. We enjoyed a glass of wine listening to the nearby fountain, singing birds and light breezes blowing through the meticulous garden grounds.

The spacious bathroom has 2 sinks, a separate shower with plush towels and soft, cotton robes. Located between the bathroom and bed, the over-sized jacuzzi tub offers room for two. It’s the perfect way to end a romantic day in Sonoma’s wine country.

Dolphin Quest – Kahala Hotel & Resort

Dolphin Quest - Kahala Hotel - Hawaii

The luxurious Kahala Hotel & Resort features a magnificent 26,000 square foot lagoon that is home to a variety of Atlantic Bottlenose dolphin, turtles, and colorful tropical fish.

If you ever get a chance, you definitely need to swim with dolphins and doing it in Hawaii as part of Kahala’s Dolphin Quest is truly an unforgettable experience.

The Dolphin Quest program is provides guests with the opportunity to get up close, swim with and learn about Atlantic Bottlenose dolphin.

The Kahala Hotel & Resort is stunning property on Oahu, east of Honolulu and Diamond Head. The lagoon area at Kahala is gorgeous and the ideal location to observe these incredible sea creatures.

The experienced trainers at Dolphin Quest provide daily education programs for guests to experience the dolphins up-close, and fully understand the uniqueness and intelligence of these wonderful creatures.

What I appreciate about the Dolphin Quest program, is the awareness of over-commercialization and not over stressing the dolphins. The trainers limit the number of private sessions to only a few each day.

Dolphin Quest features five beautiful dolphins:

  • Hoku – (Name means ‘Star’ in Hawaiian) Hoku was born at The Kahala in 1991. A very good-natured animal, Hoku loves tactile attention and learning new behaviors.
  • Kolohe – (‘Rascal’) He is from Dolphin Quest Hawaii, where his mother, Shaka, currently lives. Kolohe is usually one of the first to try new things and is not shy. Kolohe is 13 years old.
  • Liho – (‘Rare and Precious’) He is a terrific animal and loves any and all guest interactions. Liho is 13 years old.
  • Lono – (An ancient Hawaiian god of fertility and farming) He is the largest and oldest of our Dolphin Quest Oahu animal family. At 500 pounds, he ranks among the larger of the Atlantic Bottlenose dolphin species. He has sired several calves at Dolphin Quest Hawaii where he resided for most of his life.
  • Nainoa – (‘The Wanderer’) You will be able to differentiate him from the others because of his chocolate-colored topside. Nainoa was born at Dolphin Quest Hawaii on October 31st, 1997.

Class participants will become educated on how dolphins live and survive in the ocean. In addition, learn several hand signals and actually get the dolphins to perform a few tricks.

In case you are not able to take photos of your dolphin experience, a professional photographer shoots photos during the session. You can purchase the pics and capture the wonderful memories to later share with friends and family.

Whether you are guest at the the Kahala Hotel & Resort or just visiting, you can always just wander down to the lagoon at anytime and watch the dolphins.

Having Fun in South Florida

Dream South Beach - Florida
Dream South Beach

Florida is a great place to visit, and on this site you will find a lot of great information about how to make your stay as luxurious as possible.

Perhaps you are on a trip, from seeing the sights of San Francisco, to visiting hostels in New York, and now you are in Florida. With regards to accommodation, there are plenty of great places where you can stay.

For example, a new hotel has opened on the South beach, Miami. It is called Dream South Beach and hopefully its reputation will live up to its name. Inside, you will find a 108 rooms and many great amenities. These include a restaurant which features the extremely well established chef, Geoffrey Zakarian.

It is so nice to have a restaurant in your hotel. This eliminates the need to search around for somewhere nice to eat, especially when you are really hungry. That is one of the great things about this hotel, there is so much to do right inside the building.

If you want some fresh air, you can check out the rooftop pool lounge. From here, you get great views of the Atlantic Ocean, and can even experience a spa. The design of this hotel is very eclectic, with interesting shapes and calming colors.

Another great thing about this newly opened hotel is its convenient location. If you fly into Miami International Airport, you will only have to travel 10 miles to reach this hub of luxury. Ideal if you need to relax after a long journey.

If you have not had enough pampering after spending a couple of nights here, there are plenty more great places to check out. The hotel Victor, also on the South Beach, has a great Spa called Spa V.

Here, you can get a wonderful Deep Tissue massage or a facial, as well as many other luxurious treatments to really make you feel like you are on holiday.
