Hiking in the incredible Rocky Mountains of Colorado is a dream come true for many outdoor enthusiasts. As the winter snows begin to thaw, hikers are making plans for another terrific hiking season.

The Limelight Hotel is offering its guests who are often aspiring mountaineers and avid adventurers, an exciting new way to explore the local mountains with the new Aspen-Crested Butte Package.   As Aspen’s newest hotel, this luxury property is a nostalgic piece of history in this hip mountain town, known for its array of outdoor adventures and fantastic dining options.

Aspen and Crested Butte are two unique, Colorado mountain towns, which by road is more than 100 miles apart. Enjoy a stunning 6-hour, 11 mile-hike through the mountains that connect the two towns.

Included in the the Aspen-Crested Butte Package are two nights at The Limelight Hotel in Aspen. The luxury Aspen, Colorado property will provide a private shuttle to the trailhead on the White River National Forest, in addition to an assortment of local and organic snacks for the journey.

After spending two nights in Crested Butte, hotel guests have their choice of options for returning back to Aspen:
* An A-Star Eurocopter flight over the mountains. The helicopter picks up guests directly from the helipad at the Nordic Inn. This flight can be extended to allow for additional sightseeing and exploration.
* A Cessna Caravan flight over the mountains. Guests must take a shuttle to the nearby Gunnison County Airport to access the plane. This flight may also be extended to allow for additional sightseeing and exploration.
* Ground transportation on the beautiful, roughly three hour drive to Aspen.

Below is the drink recipe …. enjoy!

Nachtmann Aspen Smash
Glassware: Nachtmann Aspen rocks glass
Garnish:  Mint bouquet on top, lemon wheel
Recipe:
2 oz Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey
½ oz Leopold Bros. Maraschino Liqueur
6 sprigs of mint
2 lime wedges
1 1/2 oz sweet and sour*
crushed ice

Directions:
Fill Nachtmann Aspen tumbler overflowing with crushed ice.
In shaker, muddle mint with lime.
Add whiskey, maraschino and sweet and sour to shaker.
Strain onto crushed ice.
Garnish with mint bouquet on top and a lemon wheel on the side of the glass.

* Sweet and Sour
1.5 cups hot water
1.5 cups sugar
1 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice
1 cup fresh-squeezed lime juice
In a large glass pitcher or jar combine all the ingredients and stir. Let cool.
