The incredibly beautiful Island of Roatan, Honduras awaits you. The luxurious Las Verandas Hotel and Villas is the first luxury resort, spa and private villa complex on this tropical island.

Roatan Island can be found in the Western Caribbean just 30 miles off the north coast of Honduras. The quaint island is only 33 miles long and 4 miles wide.

This is a follow-up to our story back in March, just after the grand opening of the Las Verandas Hotel and Villas.

Roatan is located between the islands of Guanaja and Útila and is the largest of all the Honduras Bay Islands. Roatan is surrounded by 34 miles of coral reef and there are hundreds of recognized dive sites as the tropical island offers first class scuba diving.

Most people have not ever heard of Roatan, so it’s an under-the-radar tropical travel destination. But the locals know it has an array of outdoor offerings. Scuba diving has long been the No. 1 allure of the island, which is surrounded by the world’s second-largest barrier reef.

In addition to diving, Las Verandas Hotel and Villas guests can also enjoy scuba certification, outstanding snorkeling, water activities including deep sea fishing, fly-fishing on the flats and mangroves, swimming with the dolphins, and ocean kayaking and jet ski rental.

The luxury Western Caribbean hotel had a soft opening on March 1, 2013. The property will eventually feature 60 luxury rooms and suites, in addition to 32 free-standing villas available for purchase offering unobstructed views of the beach and the Caribbean.

Guests of the Las Verandas Hotel and Villas have access to a private 1,000-foot crescent-shaped white beach to call their own and soak in the abundant sunshine. If you desire to lounge around a beautil pool, you are in luck as there are two large infinity pools to enjoy. For you rdining pleasure, try the two
specialty restaurants and bars that proudly offer Caribbean/Americas fusion cuisine, and a private function room with terrace overlooking the Caribbean.

For golf lovers, the large golf course is also a major attraction. Designed by legendary father-son duo Pete and Perry Dye, the a championship golf course – The Black Pearl – can be found adjacent to the resort.
