If you are a nature and outdoor lover, this excursion is for you. The Andaman, a luxury resort located in the tropical island of Langkawi, is introducing a 7day/7night Reef & Rainforest Expedition (R&R Expedition) designed for nature and science enthusiasts.
Located on Malaysia’s west coast, this expedition led by eco-experts such as Dr Gerry Goeden, Mark Lawrence and Irshad Mobarak, will do hands-on scientific study projects to help preserve the nature of Langkawi.

Guests will finish each day exhausted and exhilarated having completed focused eco-projects and tasks. The Andamanluxury resort, nestled in a tropical rainforest is surrounded by lush plant life and coral reef often called “rainforests of the sea”. If you listen closely you will hear the rain falling from the trees. Sounds of monkeys and birds ring out within the lush foliage around the hotel including the great hornbill, the dusky leaf monkey, the rare colugo (flying lemur of South East Asia), crab-eating macaques and over 300 species of butterflies.
Through the R&R Expedition, program participants will help manage and maintain the remaining forests and underwater lives of Langkawi that have been damaged due to economic development. A premiere tourist destination, Langkawi has lost portions of its natural habitat creating an urgent need to preserve the remaining forests and underwater lives.

The R&R Expedition will develop the strategies needed to protect this natural resource so it comes alive again. Ultimately, these results will be used to observe and monitor the health of the reef and rainforest in the future.
Scheduled from April 14-20, 2013, participants will enjoy an eco-themed welcome dinner, daily breakfast and lunch, and a team recognition dinner on the last night. Limited to 16 persons per expedition, reservations close on April 7, 2013.
