Viewing James Bond Island From a Luxury Yacht

James Bond Island - 007 in Phuket

Daniel Craig, the latest agent 007, has made James Bond cool again.

James Bond made Koh Ping-gan, a tiny Thai island in Phuket famous and now a favorite tourist destination. The magical island played a starring role along with Roger Moore in the 1974 James Bond movie, The Man With the Golden Gun.

Scenes from the movie featured the hideout of the film’s villain, Scaramanga, were shot there. The location has been named as James Bond Island by the locals and the tourists who are lucky enough to visit this tropical bay.

Like the hundreds of other islands in Phang Nga Province, north-east of Phuket, James Bond Island is a limestone tower capped with lush vegetation rising dramatically out of the deep blue sea.

But for the ultimate luxury experience, the only real way to see James Bond island is from the deck of a luxury cruiser with a glass of chilled champagne in hand.

One such luxury vessel is the Lady Sarojin, a 38 foot cruiser that’s available for exclusive charter to guests at The Sarojin resort in Khao Lak province. The resort is about an hour’s drive north of Phuket.

Like everything at the resort, the boat is luxurious, offering deep, comfortable cushions, soft white towels, lemongrass-scented refresher towels and plenty of flowing champagne.

At lower tides, caves are exposed offering tourists sea canoeing and kayaking adventures as well as the usual snorkeling and scuba diving.

This particular cruise doesn’t land on the James Bond Island, but its incredible beauty can be observed just offshore. Just enjoy another glass of champagne, watch the other tourists.

Next you travel on to a sea gypsy fishing village. Stop and enjoy lunch after arriving at Koh Pannyi, a fishing village built on stilts.

Due to its Muslim roots, there will not be any alcohol served with lunch .  This sleep village offers a market, selling clothes, trinkets, foods, even a monkey.

After lunch, take your time and explore the intimate setting of this seaside village.

For those wanting to explore the beauty below the water surface, try snorkeling for a once in a lifetime views of nature at its best.

    Daniel Craig

    Daniel Craig James Bond 007

Daniel Craig, a veteran British actor, has the following film credits – “Elizabeth”, “Sylvia”, “The Jacket”, “Road to Perdition”, “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider”, “Layer Cake” and his first role as James Bond 007 in “Casino Royale.”

In late 2005, it was unveiled that sandy-haired Daniel Craig would replace Pierce Brosnan as the suave spy as the star of the next Bond film.

After the great success of the film and Craig’s acclaimed performance, he now stars again in the next film in the Bond series – Quantum of Solace.

The 2006 movie Casino Royale became the highest-grossing Bond film in history, earning nearly $600 million worldwide.

Daniel Craig really enjoys his new role and says he will play Bond until his “knees go” insisting he has no intention of giving up the part in the near future.

    He tells Britain’s Hello! magazine:
“Bond is becoming a long-term job. We will see how this one turns out. If everything goes well, if people still want to see these movies, I will keep doing them for as long as it takes–or until my knees go, whichever happens quicker.”

The now 40-year-old actor, loves to portray the British secret agent and really identifies with the character, especially when Bond 007 gets himself into difficult and dangerous situations.

    Daniel Craig James Bond 007

For Craig, playing Bond seems to be as much an athletic endeavor as an acting challenge. He played rugby as a schoolboy in Liverpool—and talking about that time, he softens.

His mother, an art teacher, and his father, who ran a pub, divorced when he was 4 years old. When I ask if his love of performing stems from those early days in his father’s pub, his blue eyes crinkle with joy.

Daniel Craig feels his working-class background keeps him grounded, but he also must contend with all the Bond fame and attention. Recently, he was named to the tony International Best-Dressed list.

James Bond 007 – Veldini ‘Q’ Spy Wristwatch

Looking for cool timepiece? Ever wanted to live in the undercover spy world, like James Bond? Well then, you may want to check out the Veldini Q wristwatch inspired by 007.

Designed by Taylor Welden, the Q ‘Bond-inspired’ luxury wrist watch has been inspired by the gadgets, luxury, class, character, and darker side of James Bond.

The design team really wanted to avoid Pierce Brosnan and the laser cutting watch, but instead provide the customer with a beautiful masculine watch, equipped with ’spy tools’ that they can actually use.

The plans are for three modular card designs – outdoor, spy, and everyday. Each of the wristwatchs has its own set of tools. Currently the ‘Q’ wristwatch is in pre-production, and the company owner plans to release at least 3 models.

Sterling silver will likely sell for $2-3k, Gold or Rose Gold will be in the $5-7k price range, and the Platinum version will be priced in the $10-15k range.

The spy tools include a set of pick locks, a glass cutter, a blade, and much more. For everyday use, this 007 watch features a mirror, a blade, bottle opener, and more. The watch also echoes the design of the hammer mechanism of 007’s Walther PPK pistol, which releases the previously mentioned card.

You never know, but the ‘Q’ may be appearing on 007’s wrist on the big screen some day soon.
