Dolce & Gabbana Junior Launches Globally This Month

The latest trend in luxury children’s wear is sure to be the new collection from Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. The duo’s fabulous new line is due to hit stores this month, and from what we have seen so far, it’s set to be just as successful as their signature line.

Already selling in Neiman Marcus, you can indulge your little ones for anywhere from $95 to $800. The new Dolce & Gabbana Junior line features over 1,000 pieces and will cater to infants, toddlers, and children up to 10 years old. The new miniature collection will include outerwear, swimwear, tweed, and polka-dots galore.

The collection, which will also include baptismal wear, is close to the hearts of both designers, “This is an homage to Italy and to our tradition. It’s part of our culture and marks one of the most important moments in our lives,” said Gabbana. Gabbana continued, stating he and Dolce found inspiration in the designs of their own baptismal garments.

According to a recent Vogue article, though luxurious, practicality was the key focus. “We interviewed all the mothers because the collection must be practical. We learned a lot, plenty of details. For example, it’s better to have sleeveless onesies and freedom of movement – kids don’t want to feel too constricted.”

Ciao Bella! Highlights from the girls collection include a lilac, sequined party dress, tweed jackets, and lots of lace! And for the gentleman – cashmere cardigans and reversible jackets for the casual play date or three-piece suits, bow ties, and velvet jackets for those special occasions.

Though the Dolce & Gabbana Junior collection follows in the footsteps of other luxury labels such as Gucci and Lanvin, the Italian label is sure to impress. The collection should be fully available and accessible by the end of this month through a network of high end boutiques and department stores.

New Alexandra Cipriani Collection: Just Like in Enrique Iglesias’ Closet

Alexandra Cipriani leather clothing collection
Alexandra Cipriani

Desire to conform diminishes with age. When I was high school, I wanted nothing more than to wear the same clothes, listen to the same music, and shop at the same stores as everyone else my age.

The older I get, as my sense of self identity increases, the less I want to look like everyone else. Now Mr. Calvin Klein, I’m sure you are very nice, but paying $35 for a t-shirt with your name in bold letters across the chest is sheer lunacy. Unique styles like ones designed by Alexandra Cipriani resonates with me more.

Although I personally do not wear leather, Alexandra Cipriani’s design style perfects the blend of fashion and edginess. Her silver-studded leather jacket and short leather party dress show off the key features of leather: form-fitting yet comfortable.

With clients like Paulina Rubio, Enrique Iglesias, and Lil Mama, Cipriani’s designs give each of its wearers the rock star treatment. Whether you are Jennifer Lopez from Hollywood, or Jennifer Smith from accounting, your garment will be hand-sewn and custom-made by request.

Alexandra Cipriani chose to specialize in leather because of the animal instinct that remains behind the skin. She personally believes that leather and sexiness are two elements that can easily be married.

Cipriani states, “When people wear my garments for the first time, their reaction is priceless; they automatically exude confidence, as if they could achieve anything.”

Heidi Klum To Design Maternity Clothes

Heidi Klum

Heidi Klum is one of the most beautiful women on earth and a very successful runway model and popular celebrity diva.

Married to her singer husband Seal, Heidi has recently given birth to her fourth child. The loving mother has added another passion to her business arsenal. Heidi Klum has decided to design her own line of maternity clothes.

Heidi is now 36 years old and host of the hit TV show Project Runway.  This week (February 12th), Heidi Klum will launch two lines of maternity collections exclusively for A Pea in the Pod and Motherhood Maternity. The A Pea in the Pod line is titled ‘Lavish’ and the Motherhood Maternity line is named ‘Loved’.

Heidi and Seal’s four children are: Leni -5 years old, Henry 4, Johan  2, and newborn daughter Lou is now almost 4 months old.

Heidi Klum was quoted, “I chose to call my collection for A Pea in the Pod Lavish because there is no grander name to express everything you want to give yourself and the child growing within you. For Motherhood Maternity, Loved is a celebration of new life and the love around you and your baby.”

Why did the supermodel — who’s mom to Leni, 5, Henry, 4, Johan, 2, and daughter Lou, almost 3 months.

Heidi continues, “I experienced fashion challenges during my four pregnancies and combined my knowledge of what works in terms of style, comfort and practicality to create these lines.”

Klum adds, “They are all about making you feel beautiful. Being pregnant shouldn’t stop you from being fashionable and feeling great about your changing body. It’s an exciting journey.”

Klum, however, won’t be able to don her own duds.

When she was still pregnant with Lou, she decided that she and hubby Seal, 46, would no longer have more children.
When asked about having more children, Heidi Klum said that she and Seal are happy with four and don’t plan to have any more children.

“We’re outnumbered!” she has said. “Four is perfect. Three is a lot. But four? It’s a lot of work. We’re hands-on, and we feel like this is what we can handle.”

The ‘Lavish’ line will offer 15 stylish pieces that will feature “iconic style and detailed construction.”

The line of ‘Loved’ will feature 14 pieces that “present comfort, playfulness and supermodel style” at a lower price point.

Luxury Loungewear – Casual Wear in Style

luxury loungewear - casual wear

Laying around your home in baggie sweat pants and a tracksuit top is becoming a thing of the past for many.  Why not pamper yourself and wear something stylish like  luxury loungewear?

Luxury loungewear, a new, discreet and trendy style that is bridging the gap between structured ready-to-wear and slouchy sleepwear, is quickly turning into the most appropriate sartorial solution in the current economic climate.

Luxury loungewear’s success is partly due to clever re-branding. No longer is the this casual market dominated by slouchy velour tracksuits, luxury loungewear (note the emphasis) is bigger, better and, dare we say it, dynamic.

Times are changing. Luxury loungewear is even now viable in the office. Oversized cardigan coats are steadily rivalling the cumbersome and costly overcoat and are just as smart; cashmere and merino are becoming ever sleeker and more decorous; while accessories such as lined leather boots combine formality with discreet comfort.

“There is no reason why something that you feel comfortable in at home can’t be worn outside, as long as the pieces are made in beautiful fabrics and cut in an interesting style,” says Moise Emquies, founder of the casualwear brand, Splendid.   Source: Financial Times
