Silverstone Golf Course Las Vegas was designed by Robert Cupp, Golf World’s 1992 Architect of the Year. Silverstone Golf Club features 27 holes of championship golf just minutes from the Las Vegas strip.
The course is located north of Centennial and east of U.S. 95 near the old Floyd Lamb State Park with a spectacular view of the Sheep Mountain Range.
Opening in June 2001, the courses feature three rotating championship style nines of bent grass on the greens and rye grass for the fairways and rough. Various water features and fresh landscaping make for a challenging and enjoyable experience.
There are six Par 5 holes that average 590 yards from the tips, with another 4 holes over 600 yards. The longest hole on this Las Vegas golf course is a 653 yard hole on the Mountain course with a large lake protecting the green. Each course will play 7,000 yards.

Marc Quinn says the supermodel is very thrilled. The Kate Moss look-alike statue is said to be the world’s largest gold statue made since the days of Ancient Egypt. That in itself is amazing.
Since the artistic piece was unveiled at the British Museum in London, it has drawn huge crowds.
“When I showed Kate the statue, she told me she loved it,” Quinn says of the piece, entitled Siren. “She modeled for me for a day or so – but she didn’t pose for me like that.” Noting that Siren is about “trying to live up to impossible dreams or immortality,” something Moss apparently contends with on a daily basis, he says, “For Kate, she thinks it lifts her into a mythic level. I think she very much loved it because she appreciates the difference between her image and herself.”
Drug maker AstraZeneca’s anti-cholesterol drug – Crestor- has shown to cut heart-attack risk and potentially benefit people with higher levels of inflammation protein.
A large-scale study has recently been completed and the results are extremely promising. On Monday, AstraZeneca announced that Crestor has been shown to reduce heart-attack risk for those people without high cholesterol.
The clinical study was named Jupiter, the results of about 18,000 patients found that Crestor reduced the risk of stroke, heart attacks and other major cardiovascular events for those with low-to-normal cholesterol levels but elevated hsCRP, a protein linked to inflammation of the arteries.
AstraZeneca now plans to file a regulatory submission, including the new data sometime in the 1st half of 2009. If AstraZeneca receives approval, they can then initiate promotional activities for Crestor with the approved labeling.
