Mystical Egypt – Rich in History

Egypt, renowned as Misr in Arabic, is positioned in the north-east corner of Africa. The capital of Egypt is Cairo, and it is most prominent for being the place where the amazing Pyramids are located.

Besides the impressive Pyramids, Egypt has several wonders to offer the large numbers of tourists that visit the country every year.

In addition to the Pyramids, Egypt also has the Red Sea, enticing brilliant scuba diving opportunities. Another must see is the Nile River, along with very old temples and ruins, mummies, museums, shopping and fine dining.

To start with, Egypt offers history. From the Pyramids, which serve as tombs of the Pharaohs to the temple complexes at Saqqara and Dashur, the country has a great deal to offer.

You can spend an entire trip focusing on nothing but the rich history of the country. If you are in Cairo, you can spend one entire day at the Egyptian Museum, which is big enough to take a full day for exploring everything in detail. From ancient artifacts to mummies, the Egyptian Museum appears to be the best place to see all the history in one place.

Spend a day and visit the Pyramids and the Sphinx, which are situated along side each other. Taking a tour into the Pyramids is a must. You can view the tombs where the mummies were found.

Besides Cairo, you can head out to the temples in Luxor, and to the West Bank across from the Nile. The Valley of the Kings is another distinguished tourist mark, as is Alexandria with many chronological sites. The Temples of Abu Simbel is the one last historical position you must see while in Egypt.

Besides chronological places, Egypt also has many popular dive locations. These spots are spread around the Red Sea resorts at the Sinai Peninsula, including Dahab, Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh. You can also plan a visit to Mount Sinai, or Saint Catherine’s Monastery.

Egypt is also a grand place to go shopping. You can purchase antiques, carpets, cotton items, jewelery, chess games, leather products, water pipes, and spices here. There are numerous places you can go shopping, but the Old Bazaar in Cairo is one of the finest places to go for good deal hunters.

Be sure to try a water pipe with flavored tobacco at most restaurants. Along take pleasure in some local Arab subjective cooking and take in the street life outside the cafe.

Be careful. Alcohol is forbidden for locals, since this is a Muslim country. But visitors can safely and easily purchase alcohol at local shops. However, be sure you don’t drink in public places. Also show proper respect for the locals by watching the way you dress.

Egypt will undoubtedly be once in a lifetime vacation experience. You can surely get pleasure from both the history and the lifestyle here, while taking in some splendid landscape, incredible food and amazing dive spots.
