As a tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, luxury watch brand Backes & Strauss has created a unique piece of jewelry – the Princess Elizabeth watch. This luxury watch commemorates the 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth.

Last year, Queen Elizabeth become the longest-reigning UK monarch. She passed the the reign of her legendary, great-great-grandmother – Queen Victoria. In 2002, Queen Elizabeth celebrated her Golden Jubilee and in 2012 the Diamond Jubilee.

In December of 2007, she also became the longest-lived British monarch. What an amazing run of longevity and achievement! Her Majesty is loved all around the world.

The Princess Elizabeth watch is the first of two pieces from Backes & Strauss that will pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth. Backes & Strauss is proud to be recognized as world’s oldest diamond company – est. 1789.

The gorgeous watch has a stunning dial featuring a younger, profile image of the Queen. The watch dial is made of gold. The master engraver at Backes & Strauss carefully, both hand-graved and enamelled using the Grand Feu technique with “XC” at the twelve o’ clock position. The enamelled process uses English Blythe Enamel. The “XC” represents 90 in Roman numerals.

The enamelled process mentioned above, uses English Blythe Enamel. It was carefully applied applied over several layers at a staggering, 900 degrees Celsius. The result of this technically challenging process is the incredible, royal purple hue.

The Princess Elizabeth watch is 37 mm in size and the case features 28 beautiful diamonds weight 3.95 carats. The hands of the watch are sword-shaped and made with superwhite luminova.

The movement of this commemorative watch is Automatic movement. The dial displays hours, minutes and seconds.

The watch Strap is an elegant jewellery bracelet. Included are 136 diamonds, weighing 18.57 carats. In total, you will find 165 shimmering diamonds. The total weight is 22.61 carats.

Keep a look out for the second piece, which will be titled the Queen Elizabeth. It will be unveiled later this year in October. Backes & Strauss will introduce it in Japan.
